Billy Corgan revives feud with Anderson Cooper, talks Alex Jones and his own paranormal experiences
This week, Smashing Pumpkins frontman William Patrick Corgan appeared as a guest on the Howard Stern Show. The lengthy discussion touched on a variety of topics, including the reason why he now goes by William (I did it to irritate people); his interactions with David Bowie and Neil Young (he once found himself in a teepee with Young, Marilyn Manson, and Lou Reed); and Smashing Pumpkins snubbing from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (It feels like high school all over again.)
Corgan also spoke of his feud with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. If you recall, back in 2014, Anderson mocked Corgan for appearing on the cover of Paws Chicago, a pet adoption magazine. He ran a piece right when my record came out insinuating that I was a has-been because I had been reduced to appearing on cat magazines, Corgan recounted to Stern. He never explained it was a charity magazine, he gave no context, he pretended I was musically dead and that I was irrelevant.
At the time, Corgan called Cooper a globalist shill, and he still holds that opinion as of today. Hes a globalist piece of shit, which is what I tweeted, and I stand by my tweet, Corgan said, adding, I think there are forces in this world where people whisper in peoples ear and say its ok to kick him in the nuts, because hes not on our team.'
Asked by Stern if he would accept an apology from Cooper, Corgan responded, I wouldnt want one, it wouldnt mean anything for me. Ive seen enough from his ilk. Hes playing for a team that doesnt have my best interest at heart and, I would argue, Americas best interest at heart.
Corgan continued: I think there are people in the world that are sold the globalist vision of the world, that were all going to hold hands one day and the worlds just going to get along. And they ignore all these crazy threats around the world. Theyre living in a la la land. I dont want any part of the la la land. I believe in the American vision of the dream, and I think weve done a pretty good job. Ill stick with America first. The globalist shit freaks me I think people like that are working for other people. They pretend to working for America, theyre not working for America, which is why they go after people like me.

With God as my witness, I swear I never thought this day would happen...
I *agree* with Billy Corgan
BLEH
You have no idea how hard that was for me to say...
Anderson Cooper is a sleaze.
I’ve never been much of a Pumpkins fan, but every interview I’ve seen with Corgan reveals an extremely intelligent and thoughtful man.
Corgan’s response was actually quite thoughtful and I dare say conservative. I came away impressed with Corgan, and it’s not the first time. He’s done a lot of charitable work for veterans as well. Corgan does not suffer fools gladly.
Ping
Nah, he’s alright. He leans to the right and he’s right about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. You dont need validation from that circle of arrogant “music experts” to put you in the “hall”.
Not much of a Pumpkins fan but I always thought he would be a hardcore lefty.
I heard the interview. I don’t like his music but he’s a smart dude. The paranormal incident sounded like he was describing a demon, which I firmly believe exist.
The R&R Hall of Fame will remain a joke until they induct Pat Benatar.
He saw someone “CHANGE” in to someone else?? what??
I *agree* with Billy Corgan
That implies that you normally disagree with him. Out of curiosity, what are some of the things you disagree with him on?
There are actually a lot of professional musicians who have conservative points of view. Unfortunately there is so much pressure in the music business to adhere to a leftist ideology that most of them keep their mouths shut.
Smashing Pumpinks was my favorite band in the 1990s and I am proud to play them today with Billy — er, William — standing with Trump and against liberal douchebags and globalist fiends.

Wait...WHAT? She's not in it? You must be joking.
Agreed
And Grand Funk Railroad
I was just watching/listening to 1993 at The Metro.
Gish, Siamese Dream, AND Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness all in a row.
I've always cut Billy, er William a break with some of the stuff he did (Courtney Love) and said. but overall, what a talent and a thinker...
Corgan made good points.
