From what I understand, you’re right. At least some Orthodox Jews believe that the state of Israel should only exist after the Messiah comes. So the current state of Israel is illegitimate.

Is that why they refuse to serve in the armed forces? I don’t know. But I’ve read that they believe that a certain segment of Jewish society should be devoted to Torah study, and do nothing else.

Perhaps a more knowledgeable Freeper will come along and provide the details.

Zionism = moral relativists, Marxists (Those that started settling in the late 19th century were Marxists first and not Spiritual at all, sorry) and secular "Judaism". Israel is one of if not the largest countries percentage wise comprised of atheism/agnosticism. For Muslims, the atheism is more "offensive" than their Jewish heritage.

Orthodox Jews can't decide who ticks them off more, the secular culture Jew or Christians.

Lived in Jerusalem for a decade. Jews come in all flavors as do the ultra orthodox.

Chabad are the good guys, the Mea Sharim flavor is the opposite.

Chabad serve in the military, the Mea Sharim are violent bigots that refuse to serve cause they are too holy for that. Those are the guys that kicked her when she turned her back than ran away. They also line up at the porn shops to get their videos before sundown on friday.

Chabad hand out tracts and treat everyone with respect, as seem to live to do good deeds.

As a Christian I learned a lot from Chabad, and respect them deeply.

The other are a shame to Israel.
