After you die, your brain knows you’re dead, terrifying study reveals

"... Death, in a medical sense, is when the heart stops beating and cuts off blood to the brain.

This means the brain’s functions also stop and can no longer keep the body alive.

Parnia explained that the brain’s cerebral cortex — the so-called “thinking part” of the brain — also slows down instantly, and flatlines, meaning that no brainwaves are visible on an electric monitor, within 2 to 20 seconds.

“At the same time, we also study the human mind and consciousness in the context of death, to understand whether consciousness becomes annihilated or whether it continues after you’ve died for some period of time — and how that relates to what’s happening inside the brain in real time,” he said.

It is not the first time brain activity after death has been recorded.

.
Studies reveal, informed sources say, many believe, but the truth is always diverse from “studies,” “sources,” and “Many.”

Any ‘science’ that is incompatible with God is very unscientific.

But they refuse to acknowledge the evidence of God in all of their discoveries.

The moment you put God in science,
you no longer have science, but religion.

>>Any ‘science’ that is incompatible with God is very unscientific.

It’s not that it is incompatible. After all, it does seek to understand the physical laws that God set in place to make the universe function.

It’s just amusing how hard the unregenerated heart has to make the mind work to understand the physical world in all of its complexities and improbabilities while denying the existence of God.

Don’t know if I’m older than you,
but the dog in “His Master’s Voice”
was named Nipper.

Humanism and Existentialism are a religion too. Humans instinctively have religion. Some have a theistic religion. Others have a humanistic religion. Science is about seeking truth. You can’t do that when you exclude a possibility. But, there are plenty of theories that include a not-yet-proven possibility.

Astronomy excludes the possibility that a unicorn created the solar system. So much for science, eh?

“Astronomy excludes the possibility that a unicorn created the solar system.”

That was my sixth grade science fair project. Got a “B”.

Nothing made by a record company is a metaphor for death.

Understand your dreams.

Please explain how God is not all things.

Actually, the person who says God is in all things has the burden of proof. And extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, not gut feelings.

——The moment you put God in science, you no longer have science, but religion——

Not to be snarky or insulting, but that is one of the most ignorant comments I have ever read on FR....

Religion is a man made construct....

Science in itself does not have eternal answers to many human conditions.

But it is snarky and insulting, unworthy of civil discourse. Have a good evening.

It was another FReeper who saw a death metaphor in a record spinning slowly to a halt.

(Gee this is fun!) since I was a kid I love to spin records backwards on the turntable and hear gibberish. It started with Spike Jones & his gunshots, bells, & whistles.

Nowadays it’s sounds of the hateful Frank Sinatra shifted into reverse that I dig the most. Ol’ Blue Eyes can’t beat me up for that since he croaked back in 1998. But I have received death threats & that’s no joke. Won’t be driving through New Jersey anytime soon.

But his spirit lives on through his 77 year old daughter Nancy. She hates anyone in the NRA & wants them dead.

;^)

Ask God to help you come to terms with this, His Holy Spirit to guide you. With your faith in Christ your fears and doubts will melt away, He will be with you when your appointed time comes. You’ll be comforted, surrounded in love, and not afraid.
