I recall one show where there was a Black guy on.

There must have been 3 or 4 categories such as “Hip Hop”, Africa, or “Civil Rights”.

I thought to myself that they were being a little too obvious.

My Daughter knows language, literature etc. far better than me tho I scored quite a bit higher on achievement tests. She actually scored 89th percentile on one and it struck me as her Mother had also score 89th percentile on one we took together.

They tend to have more categories my Daughter would do well in when there are women on the show.

Who has time to watch this stuff?

Try it sometime, you might like it. You seem to have the time to comment on it. :)

I really didn’t want ‘her’ to win. ‘She’ creeped me out.

That’s convenient, we usually eat about that time so we usually watch then.

I have no doubt about that. I was a fan for many years. If you were to take a real look I think you could make the case that if they wanted a certain person to win they would have categories related to that persons education or background. Contestant number one, with your degree in music, in the category Bach to the Future, identify this piece of classical music.

Having her on was bad enough, but it was the seriousness of their conversation that was particularly nauseating.

So, I wasn’t the only one who noticed. When it comes to political correctness, the entertainment industry is at the forefront.

While it is always possible there could be some rigging, having been a contestant I can tell you that it would not be easy. They are very strict about not doing something that would favor any particular contestant. It would kill the show if it was found to be cheating in some way.

I have no way to receive TV broadcasts in my home. Our viewing is limited to what we have on DVD or can download from the internet and most days we don’t even use that. Spending a minute make a 2 sentence response on FR takes considerably less time than watching a 30 minute TV program anyway.

TV is an addiction I don’t want anyway. Those rare occasions when I do watch, the content of the shows isn’t great. Even the relatively harmless trash has commercials that are a pageant of consumer driven depravity I never want to expose my children to.

I watched Austin Rogers and had the impression that he just wanted to have fun.

Austin Rogers was my favorite of all time. The night he lost, the winner was a woman from Tennessee and one double jeopardy category was Dolly Parton which she ran and that was basically the game. I swear the show is frequently fixed for a preferred outcome. I predicted the Navy O3 pilot’s win when the other each had $13,500 going to final jeopary. My wife said no way and then I was right. We didn’t watch last night since the Yankees game was on.
