57 Things I Need You to Stop Doing to the Women You Work With
Esquire ^ | October 16, 2017 | Kaitlin Menza

A female friend of mine went on a foreign business trip early in her career with two colleagues who were both male, married, and senior to her at the company. After dinner with a client, hours after she had retired to her room, around 1 a.m., one of her coworkers knocked on her hotel door and asked if she would come out for a drink. She declined. After another hour, around 2 a.m., the other coworker knocked on her door. When she opened it a crack, he tried to push his way into her room. She fought him off. All three still work together.

People with perpetual smiles have name. Serial killers.

Yep.

It can be summed up with, "If I want you to touch me I will let you know. Until then please keep your hands to yourself."

I think they used to teach that in kindergarten.

Anecdotal evidence never proves a general stereotype is true.

But using exactly that type of evidence is what the Marxist/Progressive/Liberal media agenda has become after the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. They will try to excuse Harvey Weinstein by explaining that he was just acting as ALL men everywhere do all the time. They will try to convert the issue of Harvey Weinstein into the general attack on all things “male” as they continue the agenda that all the world’s problems are created by males and are about males acting normal, as males.

As in ALL men are pigs. /sarc

If you actually LIKE someone, are attracted to them, want to date them, go out with them, ect... then MOST of those things are NOT OK !

I think you have this a little bit backwards.

Those things are not OK if the woman is not interested in the man. It has nothing to do with whether or not the man is attracted to the woman. It never does.

Therefore an ugly Harvey Weinstein, who has the power to give his targeted woman what she wants, can do or say these things with impunity - a handsome Justin Timberlake or Ben Affleck can do or say these things and get a tremendously positive response...whereas Dave from the accounting department will incur a sexual harrassment complaint for saying "Good morning." :)

It's not an even playing field, so it's best for the average (powerless) man to remember he isn't free to say much of anything in Corporate America. Stick to work and adopt the "Mike Pence Policies." Women will come to him if they are interested - if none do, he is doing something wrong.

there is a difference between having a perpetual smile and being friendly and approachable.

I find anyone (male or female) who wont smile to be exceedingly unfriendly and unapproachable. To me it’s like wearing a sign saying I hate you and everyone else nearby and stay the hell away from me because I don’t trust you.

"Any woman who would make such a list I would avoid like the plague she is."

And if she were about to fall out a window, I would wish her well in her new endeavor.

"You know, I am actually starting to think something is wrong with ME! Apparently every other woman in the world is so irresable that men are constantly throwing themselves at them and just can’t help but make advances. I have been in the workforce with men for 30 years— nothing. Not so much as a glance. Am I that ugly and unappealing? I guess so."

Ma'am, you look fine this morning! :)

I would argue that Dave from the accounting department has different “intention”.

If Dave were gay, there would be no issue would there? and why is that? because of the difference in intention!

I have been friends with girls all my life, I find it quite easy to be actually.

“you”
Just who is that “you” directed at? Don’t try to include me in your mass blaming spasm, b!tch! I didn’t do any of those things, so aim your anger elsewhere, idiot!

You know damned well that many women actually like the guy who’s a bastard, instead of the guy who treats them with respect, fool. Start paying attention to the guy who’s civilized and treats you with kindness, and stop worshipping bastards who push women around. Admit it!

>>>"If I want you to touch me I will let you know."

Not true.

I've dated a lot in the past. When I made my first "move" I rarely had any indications that the "move" was desired. Funny, it is a crap shoot. I was never rebuffed very often but I sure was in doubt as to the outcome every time. On the occasion I receive the push back my standard reply was "Just checking".

So ladies what is this mythical universal subtle signal? The left pinky raises in excitement signaling it is a "go" for the advance?

Men are risk takers and learn to take rejection early. It is almost a rite of passage to be rebuffed a few times.

Women in general are afraid to send that signal out for fear of rejection.

basically... what it comes down to is this.

Women are NOT dumb. Heck, when it comes to this type of stuff (reading peoples hidden intentions) most men are bumbling fools compared to women.

They KNOW when a man is just being friendly, and when he is trying to “come on” to them. And they can see through your excuse like a parent can see through a young childs attempt at a lie.

Are you a man who wants to be friends with a woman? then be a friend. But dont pretend you are friends when you actually want something entirely different.

I’m glad to be retired. It’s a minefield out there.

Ditto! In my last years on the job, when this stuff was just starting to get big,I'd never have a woman in my office with the door closed.

Yo would think women would want to look plainer, maybe wear burkas?

That is the Arab mentality.

I am going to work in about five minutes. Chances are I will not see a male over the age of five all day. I am married and have zero interest in any other man. I will still be well groomed because that is what a civilized person does.

That some people are not civilized will be dealt with by my final accessory which was made by Smith and Wesson.
