A 7-year-old Kentucky boy fell into a deep sleep for 11 days recently...
Amy Shaw told television station WDRB ... that it happened after she and her son Wyatt attended a wedding in which she described the little boy as being the life of the party.
While she expected her son to be tired that night, she could never have anticipated that he would not wake up for 11 days.

He is having trouble walking and talking, but has shown signs of improvement.
Doctors woke the boy up with the help of a drug normally used to treat seizure; however, his condition remains a medical mystery.
All tests performed on Wyatt thus far so far come back “clear,” ...

Maybe someone slipped something into his food or drink.
Something to treat seizures? Maybe a simple increase in metabolism wi thyroid medicine would have done the job...

More seriously, I hope the little guy recovers from whatever this is.
Happens all the time with people with POTS (syndrome). Surprised they didn’t figure it out.
Me to. I'm lucky if I get 4 or 5 hours of sleep at night.

Friend of mine at work had a kid who would pass out, sometimes for several days at a time. It was due to the Autonomic System (subconscious stuff, like breathing, digesting, etc.) not communicating properly with the rest of her body (Disautonomia). Tried all kinds of crap (i.e., drugs), nothing worked. Finally a surgeon re-positioned her neck, and now all seems fine. Biggest problem for her parents was finding a doctor that actually believed the kid wasn’t faking it...and then getting a surgeon lined up to do the work, as the few that do it are way overbooked.
