FULL TITLE: Monday Night Football ratings hit season low as NFL owners meet in New York to address ongoing controversy surrounding players protesting during the national anthem
The Tennessee Titans won their Week 6 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, but the real losers may be ESPN and the NFL, which suffered through the lowest-rated 'Monday Night Football' game of the season.
MNF, which is broadcast by ESPN, had been losing viewers throughout the season, but Mondays 6.1 rating in metered markets was its lowest of the 2017 season, according toDeadline.com. (In other words: 6.1 percent of households in metered markets watched the game on Monday).
Thats a 13 percent dip from the October 9 game, which benefited from a competitive matchup between the rival Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings as well as a slight halftime bump during which the new Star Wars movies trailer premiered.

Yeah, It must be like a wake at the meeting.. and in the stands,, welll,, the empty seats say it all.
NFL = NEW FAR LEFT!
More NFL teams renamed: Oakland Traitors, Baltimore Cravens, Buffalo Bolsheviks, Green Bay Pinkos, Washington Red Guards, Los Angeles Chekists, Jacksonville Jacobins.
The Dallas Cowgirl Pussies!
When the Denver Donkeys took knee I switched the channel and never watched again. Those still watching are propping up anti-american hate.
Screw ‘em. They want to create the Social Justice League to appeal to the Swarthmore pukes let them go right ahead.
Hold all the meetings you want, I am not coming back.
The NFL hates America.
America noticed.
Bunch of weenies.
Tell the players the flag represents the constitution which does not represents racism - the opposite. And stand for the anthem show no disrespect or be suspended
Tgem get back to work
And they’d better do this because it will become non contained out of control
Defense of the flag is paramount to the country
No one can nuance that fact
One side or the others
What the fools don’t understand is that the current empty seats are the cheap day-of-game purchases. The teams’ big money is in season ticket sales that start right after the Super Bowl.
The season ticket holders will not be renewing this year, and teams, and therefore players will have huge financial losses.
Serves then VERY right
Well done.
Thanks!
National Felon League provides some great pictorial humor!
“Colin, thanks to you as a BLM/NFL useless idiot, you woke Americans up to the NFL scam”
I think deep down we all knew what Conlin brought out. What surprised us and ANGERED us to no end, was the way the Owners reacted - in siding with the people who hate America, rather than their own fans.
But I agree with others...but now that it’s all out there, WE ARE THROUGH being a part of their multi-million dollar salaries. They can try Europe, for all we care.
Here in NJ anyone I know with season tickets (both Giants AND Jets) got rid of them after they built a new stadium a few years ago; there was an additional cost (”personal seat license”?) that they found completely unacceptable, and things like parking had increased. I wouldn’t even call it an unforeseen consequence, just pushing a little too far; these new stadiums aren’t built for “little people”, but include more corporate boxes.
As part of this, the Giants went through a 30 YEAR WAITING LIST in less than a year.
Keep posting those ...
they just keep getting better!!
love them
While the sport was already seeing lower TV ratings, the accompaniment of the National Anthem protest with outlandish criticism from President Donald Trump has caused core fans, men aged 34-54, to turn their attention elsewhere.
If his criticism is that outlandish, why are ratings dropping?
Hey...let them form the “Social Justice League”!
“Tonight the Seattle Snowflakes take on the Pittsburgh Pussies, sponsored by BLM brand kneeling pads!. Join us for the pre-game group hug and kum-bay-ah singing at 7:45!”
LOL love the last one!
In fact, according to the Winston Poll, every sect of NFL fandom saw a decrease in support.
The news does slightly confirm the prediction made by Trump at the end of September, when he said that the continuation of the protest could spell bad news for the league.
Slightly confirm? How does being 100% right rate being slightly confirmed?
