Report: Kaepernick’s Collusion Case to Focus on Donald Trump’s Influence Over NFL Owners
Sports Illustrated and CBS ^ | Oct 17 2017 | Dan Gartland /Jason La Canfora

Colin Kaepernick’s collusion case against NFL owners will argue that his continued unemployment is at least partially the fault of President Donald Trump, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports.

Kaepernick intends to argue that Trump, on Twitter and in public speeches, influenced NFL owners against signing Kaepernick, according to the report.

Trump no doubt has the ear of NFL owners. The day before the Kentucky rally, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was on Air Force One with Trump. Trump also tweeted last month that he had spoken with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about the anthem issue—he reportedly called Jones four times in a day to talk about the protests.

Many other owners donated to Trump’s inaugural committee. Proving his views on Kaepernick and peaceful protests of injustice contributed to Kaepernick’s absence from the league would require details about his conversations with ownership, though.

The breaking point for Kaepernick was when he was passed over by the Titans and Raiders two weeks ago, according to La Canfora. Tennessee signed Brandon Weeden and the Raiders held steady with E.J. Manuel.

What does President Trump have to do with his nonsense?

Washington (CNN) — President Barack Obama said at a CNN presidential town hall Wednesday that he respected Colin Kaepernick’s decision not to stand during the national anthem.

HA HA HA HA!
if there was ever a LOSER of a case premise, this is it!

of course, it is all a big kabuki theatre and Colin is obviously being paid a lot more to do this krap than he ever could make playing football (even with his super-sized contract)

The lawyer is simply doing what lawyers do. Promoting a losing case to a moron with millions to throw away. He’ll suck Crapernickle until he’s broke. Maybe the lawyer and girlfriend are in it together.

Krapernickle will be slinging burgers in a few years.

Collusion that results in price fixing is illegal, not the case here.

Collusion to practice racial discrimination is illegal, not the case here (75% of NFL is Black).

If all the owners got in a room and agreed that this guy is so toxic to their brand and their businesses that his hiring would result in economic suicide for the team that hires him and severe economic damage to all the other teams if he is hired,: is that collusion or business acumen and enlightened self interest?

They’ll probably site Trump’s statements about removing the tax breaks the NFL gets as the basis for pressuring the owners to clamp down on the players and the continued hands-off approach with Kaepernick.

Donald Trump is not necessarily the most popular guy amongst NFL owners (three dollar jury award, remember?)

Trump has First Amendment rights too.

That titans quarterback looked really sharp last night. Nothing like interviewing a chump to get the staff to bump up their game for the cost of a first class plane ticket. What a moron.

He needs to focus on the former NFL fans’ impact on the owners.

They may spout talking points and banalities but make no mistake; they’re protesting a country that had the audacity to elect Donald Trump.
