Just trying to forgot about all the sad events in the world today with the mass killings, fires, hurricanes, etc. so I've turned to music for an outlet. I know this is weird as I'm 55y/o but I love 50's and 60's music. They just don't make music like this anymore. Here are two of my favorites.

I enjoyed the Everly Brothers because my two older sisters were into music, so I got a good education of the music of the 50’s. I was 10 in 1957. My second oldest sister bought one of the first stereo record consoles for our house.

We listened to a lot of The Ames Brothers, and Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians. When Mitch Miller started his “Sing Along With Mitch” tv series in 1961, we watched it every week. My Dad loved the old songs they sang, and we bought the albums which had all the lyrics included so we could sing along at home.

Too many favorites to list - I have over 250 GB of mp3s and 75% are from that time frame. The rest span 70s - 80s/Blues and Jazz - with some classical because some of the strings and piano productions can be relaxing.

Jay & Americans Fun Fact....
During a 1 year period, a young Donald Fagen & Walter Becker were a part of his touring band.
Of course, Fagen & Becker went on to join a small band called Steely Dan.
Oh yeah...big band is my bag also.... But I do like the "Rat Pack" as well..
Yes, forgot Dick Dale. Terrific. I’ve always had a penchant for instrumental music. At one time it was a staple of the Top 40 format. Alas, no longer.
