Any 50's/60's music lovers here?

Just trying to forgot about all the sad events in the world today with the mass killings, fires, hurricanes, etc. so I've turned to music for an outlet. I know this is weird as I'm 55y/o but I love 50's and 60's music. They just don't make music like this anymore. Here are two of my favorites.

Four Preps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXd8c1BLpRQ

Bachelors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4opYhQAAao

What are your favs from these eras?

Is there a 50s/60s version of Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, or Disturbed?

Pop music has been terrible for about the last 20 years. I’ll take anything from Sinatra to Zeppelin to Megadeth for $500, Alex.

Anyway:

“Peppermint Twist” by Joey Dee and the Starliters:

50s was really before my time, but I do like a few from that decade. But the 60s are my favorite, 70s weren't too bad either. My favorites are The Turtles, Mamas and the Papas, Beach Boys, Grass Roots, Glen Campbell, Wilson Pickett, and a bunch of others. Great era of music.

This generation (and the last) sadly will not have music that will last beyond 5 years. It's nothing more than 4 minute long, bad commercial jingles.

Why stop at the 50’s?

My kids, in their early-mid thirties can identify anything by Glenn Miller and a few other artists from that period.

“Peppermint Twist” by Joey Dee and the Starliters was the first album I ever bought way back in 1962 with my paper route earnings. I was 12.

Hey, FRiend - I’m 51 and I enjoy the jazz from that era.

A lot of the 1950s material is just terrific.
