It's after Stephen Paddock killed 58 and injured hundreds of country music fans when he opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest festival in Las Vegas.
Traditionally country music and gun culture have had a strong friendship.
With the genre even having its own division of the rifle association called NRA Country which sponsors tours and artists.
But now platinum-selling duo Florida Georgia Line and chart topper Thomas Rhett both have disappeared from the NRA Country website this week.

Some of them are living proof of what it means to be a fair weather friend....and their paper thin loyalty is duly noted!!
I guess they expect their fans to demonstrate more loyalty than they do....in which case, I think they may be in for one big arse surprise! Dont feign loyalty to the military and to America, then pull this liberal crap!

Murder on Music Row comes to mind when you talk about “country” music nowadays. Country it ain’t and I was “country when country wasn’t cool”......;)

Hell, anymore *country* is barely country. Yes, it's definitely a "mainstream" genre and has been for at least 20 years. It's a business that, much like the NFL, markets itself in a certain way. That doesn't means it's performers actually believe a certain way. You know, like Fox reporter/ettes.

I like some of the songs, etc but I wouldn’t classify most of it as country.

I’ve been playing pedal steel since 1970 or so, dabbled a bit a few years earlier. I’m a Hellecasters type Tele player. I cannot stomach today’s “Country” music. It all sounds like the same producer! Same vocal sound, same guitar sound. The songs sound the same, and they don’t sound Country. I have more fun playing with my Melodic Metal buddy Neil Zaza.

Bad rock with a fiddle.
Thanks for a good laugh. Unfortunately, it is so true. I can’t even watch country music awards shows anymore. I certainly don’t buy or download their crap.

A spokeswoman for FGL said the band did not have a present day relationship with NRA. A spokeswoman for Rhett also confirmed that he has no current relationship with the NRA. Each were named NRA Country’s “artist of the month” in 2013.

"Traditionally country music and gun culture have had a strong friendship."
Traditional was a long time ago. Since the '70s, it's been all "progressive."
