Class Action Lawsuit Against NFL, Players and Players Union
Just had a phonecon with a partner at my old firm in DC. They are establishing a class of injured plaintiffs who are being denied the enjoyment promised when they bought season tickets to NFL games, their children exposed to anti-Americanism, psychological trauma among vets and family members who lost loved ones in wars,
Defendants will be the League, individual teams, individual players in teams where an identifiable segment of the class of plaintiffs are located, and the players union. Other plaintiffs class will be those who bought season passes to watch games on Cable. Others might be vendors in the stadiums, fan apparel manufacturers, etc.
Compared to some recent class action litigation, this will be easy .and NFL will pay through the nose. I would expect the fees for the plaintiffs lawyers alone will easily run 60 to 150 million dollars. The class will probably get 50 to 70% their season ticket cost as settlement damages.
This will be fun.
I don't want to be part of the negotiating team. Others are better at this. I just want to do discovery on some of the slackjaw players....
I actually kind of like this. I could get behind this one.
Awesome. Almost wish I have bought a Sunday Ticket or whatever so I could be part of the class.
Yep, Im deeply offended by their un-patriotic actions,,
Gimme Gimme Gimme
Atta boy!!!!
It’s about time we used “law fare” against the progressives since they have been using it against us for decades.
Sounds like fun.....
Next step is to judge-shop an NFL season-ticket holder.
They have “snowflakes”.
We have “snow balls”!
“I knew there was a reason I kept my DC Bar Card active!!!”
LOL - that was my first thought too! (No wonder they hate us...)
I think anything that reinforces the message to the owner-elites that the nation does not think like they do is great.
Best class action is to stop supporting the NFL. When the market value of teams drops a billion bucks each, that might finally get the attention of the owners.
The NFL is reputed to have some of the best cybersecurity on the planet. If true, wondering why the NFL needs that kind of security....
A patriotic NFL season-ticket holder will be harder to find.
re: Payouts:
Like most Class Actions, case will never go to trial. League, and especially team owners will start screaming to their lawyers “Make this go away!”
They can make it go away.... with dollars!
This doesn’t pass the laugh test. You can’t sue someone for exercising their free speech rights in a disgusting and offensive manner. As long as the NFL chooses to allow it there is little anyone can do beyond what I have... namely stop watching football. There is no explicit or implicit guarantee in season ticket contracts that protects your happiness or emotional well being. Frankly this sounds like the kind of crap I expect from left-wing snowflakes.
Bttt.

Love the idea ... however this will be thrown out by some liberal activist judge.
