Ignoring the backlash against his rebuke of U.S. flag and National Anthem protests in the NFL, President Donald Trump tweeted his approval of "solidarity" shown Sunday by those standing in locked arms, adding "kneeling is not acceptable" and ripping the NFL for its "bad ratings."

I think Trump knows that. But by applauding the arm-linkers, he's actually going to thoroughly discombobulate them.

Now, every time they link arms to "signify unity," they'll be aware that Trump approves. And that's the last thing they want!

It will be interesting to see if the arm-linking continues. If Trump approves of it, they'll be forced to stop. Heaven forbid if Trump approves!

I read yesterday about an NBA player who sat during the Anthem in the 70’s. He was Muslim and said the flag represented oppression and his religion wouldn’t allow him to respect it by standing. The team suspended him without pay and told him he would stay suspended until he stood for the Anthem.

He sat for one more game and folded. End of protest.

Thanks to Da Bears for defeating Pittsburgh, though coach Mike Tomlin does wear a cross around his neck and for all to see during games. I do like that no matter what anyone says. A coach can control so much.

Given Jerry's past hiring practices I don't think much comes before winning games - certainly not his players' character.
