The reason why the refs didn’t notice was because the Colts had the ball for several minutes before handing it to the ref claiming that it was under inflated.

He has never favored the Patriots.

There is a lot of bad blood between goodell and Belichick over Belichick deciding to go work for the Pats instead of the jets. Goodell however has strong ties to the jets organization.

Belichick is not the owner of the Patriots. Robert Kraft is the owner, and they are good friends and Goodell is his stooge. It's not a secret. It was openly acknowledged from the time he came into the league.

The first thing he did when he came into the league was personally take over the Patriots spying investigation. He declared the investigation over, issues a slap on the wrist, and DESTROYED ALL THE EVIDENCE. SERIOUSLY.

There was a lot of anger about from the other owners, and when "Deflategate" happened the other owners were ready to mutiny, if Goodell didn't pursue it.

I never said that Belichick was the owner. Belichick was supposed to go work for the jets but the Pats offered a better deal. Jets fluff boi goodell got his panties in a wad over it, and has ground the axe at every opportunity since. Goodell is now, and has always been in the back pocket of the ny jets. Goodell slapped his jets on the wrist for player tampering with a 100k fine, while other teams such as the 49ers faced steeper fines and loss of draft picks. Goodell allowed his team (the jets) to investigate "tripgate" themselves. Goodell never punished his team (the jets) for their own "spygate" scandal, yet punished the Patriots for doing something less. Goodell's hand-picked goon "investigating" deflategate is a fellow jets lackey who also has bad blood with Belichick. Oh yeah by all means goodell is a Kraft toady

The Colts first measurements were a little above what should have been expected had the understood “outside”.

But the reasons the refs didn’t notice would not have been something that happened AFTERWARDS.

The thing that makes this silly, is that for decades football pressures vary by near 6 PSI over the course of the season, and nobody cared - it is utterly normal. Every QB who has played for more than a couple of years has played with “under-pressure” footballs.

That 100k fine was for Johnsons 4th violation of the rule, and was smaller than the 3rd.

You're slipping past a few steps in there - as it was several months between those events. Yeah, after the the investigation was over, and the tapes got leaked to reporters like Jay Glazer, they were destroyed. 1) The reporters who saw the tapes said they showed look at clock, closeup of a cheerleaders groin, defensive signal with other teams coaches waving, play, closeup of a cheerleaders boobs, clock...etc. 2) the tapes weren't a good look because the tape guys were being pervy. 3) Glazer, at the least, played the tapes continuously at parties for years. 4) the Pats were punished for the taping - so your point was?, 5) the rules cited in the punishment were safety rules for WHERE the taping was done from. 6) the punishment of the Patriots was part of a series of gamesmanship moves against the Pats by the Jets and Dolphins which Goodell had declared not to be violations of the rules, the Jets being essentially the same, and the Dolphins being more egregious.
