We all were in tux.
A black co-worker was in a white tux and I was in a black tux.
I made the cooment “he looked like my photo negative”
You would have thought I called him the “N” word.

After being a fly on the wall in many rich people’s homes in the catering business (Dallas), I’d much rather be wearing a tux as a server than as a guest!

Any comment that requires an acknowledgement of the race of someone who is black in order to be funny or make sense is racist. There are corollaries for sex, one of the religions and sexual orientation, but not when uttered by the protected religion. Carry on.
