CLEVELAND -- Eleven Cleveland Browns players knelt in a circle during the national anthem prior to Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants.

While the group knelt behind the Cleveland bench in front of the Gatorade buckets, several other players stood nearby and put their hands on a kneeling teammate's shoulder in support.

Those who took a knee were tight end Seth DeValve, running backs Duke Johnson Jr. and Terrence Magee, safeties Jabrill Peppers and Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jamar Taylor, receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis, linebackers Chris Kirksey and Jamie Collins, and running back Isaiah Crowell (who was not in uniform).

Good idea if Jim or the Mods don’t want to block pro NFL fan threads from FR. Or in addition to X, folks could post Boycott NFL pictures on the threads!!

I’d say they just caused an already struggling franchise poorer tv ratings and at least 40,000 ticket sales or 5,000 per him game.

It is. They should’ve found a way to put a stop to it asap now it’s festering out of control.

Perhaps keeping the teams in the locker room during the national anthem

the left will celebrate their “freedom of speech” even though they have none because the NFL is a business and has regulations and rules.

Yet people protesting the removal of statues on a public street which they had a permit is not freedom of speech?

okay, got it.

I think we deplorables should run some commercials thanking the kneelers for showing some reverance and patriotism by kneeling... as if they were praying....

Some will, but fewer every game, I would expect. The backbone of the NFL fan demo has been the aging white baby boomer who came of age rooting for the Pete Rozell league of the 60's, when there were two televised games on Sunday afternoon ("The NFL Today!")and that was it until 1969 the debut of "the Church of Monday Night Football" with Howard Cosell and Dandy Don, the first few Super Bowls after the AFL-NFL rivalry.

These pampered jockstraps weren't even born when the NFL was at its peak.

Now, the NFL is just like horse racing or boxing, a jerk off sport for degenerate gamblers and their bookies.

Eleven players kneel during the anthem. Sad. This decreases my appreciation for NFL players.

I blame the coach who has the power to instruct proper postures during the anthem.

“Does anyone have a theory on why white guys seem to dominate the offensive line positions?”

Aside from the quarterback, OLs have the most complex job on the offense, and thus have to be among the smartest players on the team.

OLs have to be big, heavy, fast AND very smart. That’s a very difficult combination to find.

There’s going to be more and more pressure on players to kneel.

Perhaps not; however, THAT shall be the outcome of this stupid sh*t.

If they thought that it was "bad" last year....just wait until this year's NFL season goes into high gear! LOL

Thanks, I wrote too. We need a massive national movement fast, to boycott the NFL and submit emails, petitions etc. Their fanbase needs to show a sudden decline in order to have any hope of influencing the league. Crush their TV ratings and ticket sales.

Let these bastards know that they are risking their prosperity and future.

We’ve had enough!!!!

The fans allowing it is the worst part. Bunch of wimps. None of them should say they support (us) troops

Wimps. The fans can do something about it but they are wimps

Locally, the Browns stadium is called the Factory of Sadness.

There are quite a number of YouTube videos if you do a search.

As lousy as the Browns have been historically, how does this help sell tickets?

No, I don’t think Jerry Jones ever said that. It was an internet rumor but it’s been debunked. Journalists have asked the team for confirmation and have never been able to get any.

It doesn’t. However the Brown Franchise is already so bad, it may not
hurt them that much.
