Madison, Wiscosnin, To Remove Monument
Radio Announcement WIBA-1310 AM, Madison ^ | Myerson

Posted on 08/17/2017 9:34:20 AM PDT by myerson

9/17/17. Madison, Wisconsin. Leftist mayor Madison Paul Soglin announced today that he will have the informational monument at the city’s Confederate Rest cemetery removed, the northern-most Confederate cemetery in the country. The cemetery holds the remains of southern soldiers who died while imprisoned at civil war Camp Randall, the current site of the Wisconsin Badger football stadium. The cemetery is respectfully tended and maintained, and services are held with graves decorated on Memorial Day. The plaque to be removed explains the origin of the cemetery and who lies buried there.

The history of Vicksburg and the battlefield there are very interesting...Nothing to be ashamed of in your family. No one who lost members of their families on either side has anything to apologize for.

We do know one thing for certain - none of the pukes parading on TV will EVER fight or die for their country! Like Patton said (paraphrasing) - let the other poor SOB die for it. These are totally useless and worthless human beings - if even human. Too bad we don’t have a draft! But why degrade the military any further than obozo already did?

They are within their country.

Probably all of the people at the protests are really ignorant about the Civil War. When I homeschooled my boys we went through every Civil War battle. My boys may not be able to repeat back today every battle but they do know what it was all about and how it changed America. And none of them would be part of any protest to tear the monuments down.

INSANITY.

We, the nation, cared enough for these prisoners to give them a respectful resting place, and they died not in battle, but in prison.

It is insanity to now deny the respect, and spirit of reconciliation, that the people of Madison IN THE CIVIL WAR ERA were capable of showing. INSANITY.

“There are no words in the English vocabulary that can begin to describe how I feel for the insane communist/socialist left.....
Short of outright shooting them, there’s got to be a way to stop this BS.”

You are not alone. And no, I don’t think there is any other way to stop them, This may be the last straw.

I’ve done my research and am joining the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Have the battle flag and bonnie blue flag.

What country would that be? Lincoln didn’t recognize the CSA as a country, they were States in Rebellion. Maybe you missed that day in class. But then you appear to approve of what the taliban left is doing here.

“What an utter ass Paul Soglin is - but, apparently, the people of Madison are about the same, else why would they have elected this moron, this idiot, this ignoramous extraordinaire.”

Soglin has been a political chancre in Madison since the anti-war demonstrations/riots/destruction of the 60’s. He is about as vile as they come and reflects the filth that elects him.

One of the primary reasons that the children of the Southern soldiers lovingly erected monuments to them after their passing is because there are so many “unknown-unmarked” burials of Confederate soldiers. It is the height of vulgarity and savagery to defile these monuments.

“The prisoners buried there were starved and neglected to death.

Their deaths should not be forgotten. This was a war crime.”

I lost kin the same way at Camp Douglas, shitcago. Mass grave at Oakwood cemetery.

Those soldiers died after being captured while fighting for a country that was not the United States.

They went to their graves in service to a country that was not the United States of America.

According to Lincoln the United States was their country.

Jeff Davis said the CSA was a separate country.

But there was no declaration of war because in Lincoln’s view he was suppressing a domestic insurrection.

You disagree- so does that mean that the wave the bloody shirt camp agrees with Jeff Davis that this was an undeclared war against a sovereign CSA nation?

“They need to change the name of the city from Madison to Trotsky.”

The voters of Madison are liable to think that’s a good idea.

I said that the CSA soldiers buried in that cemetery went to their graves fighting against the United States of America.

Actually you recommended that their bodies be returned to their own country. But that’s so 3 hours ago. Memory fades.

“Actually you recommended that their bodies be returned to their own country.”

The country they died of no longer exists.

it would be like sending soldiers’s bodies back to the Ottoman Empire or Prussia.

The irony is that REAL Nazi soldiers who died in detention camps here were given military funerals with honors, in accordance with the Geneva Convention.

I remember growing up, it was common when the Second World War was discussed to have asked how the German people could or would allow the Nazis to gain power, how they could just stand back and let it build to the point they were under tyranny.

America does not need to ask that question any longer.

The section of the Camp Randall cemetery where the Confederate graves are located is not part of the National Cemetery at that location. The land where the Confederate graves are located is owned by the city of Madison. Each grave has a VA supplied Confederate head stone. The plaque to be removed was placed there by the City of Madison a long time ago.
