Advice For Boston Visit
self ^ | August 13 2017 | Bigg Red

The husband and I will be visiting the Boston area in about 10 days. As history buffs, we are very much interested in seeing all of the sites relating to colonial history and to the Revolution.

Hoping to hear from anyone familiar with the city advice regarding areas to avoid, transportation, places to eat, must-see sites, etc.

To: who knows what evil?

The Departed made 93 look like a country road.

Of course the real fun is when there is construction.

God, hated driving anywhere in that city.

” ( although I think Route 128 is now Route 95 is it not?)”

Yes and no. It runs with 95 for a good distance,it runs alone up on the North Shore, and also runs with Route 1 for a distance.

Durgin Park

Prime Rib, Baked Beans, Indian Pudding.

Nuff said.

It’s an eccentric place, but the food is plentiful and delicious.

We were there last fall. I thought the Freedom Trail was a great way to do it. Almost every few steps, there’s something historic and interesting. And the North End has the best Italian food anywhere!

P Town is an old fishing town—the first place the Pilgrims landed. The whole gay PTown thing has gone away quite a bit since the gay marriage movement has gone the way of the horse carriage.

I like visiting there. Its fun.

I’m from Boston (and live just south of it). These tours are excellent and fun.

Omni Parker House is a great idea. Nice view of Old North Church from Tremont St near there. Very close to the Granary Burying Ground -- go pay your respects to Sam Adams and many others. Grave of William Billings on Boston Common -- the composer of "Chester"

Let tyrants shake their iron rod,
And Slav'ry clank her galling chains,
We fear them not, we trust in God,
New England's God forever reigns.
