I’ve been loading my own music into my I devices since the iphone3GS. I imported my CD rips into iTunes on my desktop and it synced to the I devices.

Myself, I have a cheap phone (not a smart phone) that I put music on. It is really simple. Plug in a USB cable and copy the songs over from whatever. The cheap phone just looks like a generic external drive to other devices. That is about a complex as I care to deal with, LOL.
I bought a cheapo Notepad 2 years ago called Visual Land for about $50.00 Its an Android device and I hardly use it since I’m hooked on the small SE i Phone. But just the other day I fired it up and its pretty good for reading on FR in bed since the screen is bigger. Otherwise I’m on my laptop alot as like right now. Sure I would spring for an i Pad but I might not use it all that much.
I bought the new Ipad -not Pro- in May and it is GREAT, I hardly ever use my desktop anymore. I needed it for work, but I also use it for games and surfing the net, I love it.
IMO, the cellular iPad is Apple’s Best Buy. I talk and text with a VOIP app and when on break at work have a nice sized screen to surf with. (Otterbox Defender essential for hard work environment...dropped iPad at least 30 times, often face-planting it, and it’s still kickin,!)
That's what I thought but I haven't turned my laptop on since I got mine. I use it all the time when I'm not at work.
I bought an iPad Pro earlier this year and really like it. Much better to take on trips out of town than my lap top.
Ditto. Just recently did the same. Looking forward to the IOS update, coming this fall. It will have specific iPad Pro benefits (not just good things for iPhone :)

I don’t think I’m running business apps. I only use it for personal use. I see no problem with the display. Like someone replied to me, a $400 difference in price makes it worth my while.
I am on my 3rd ipad. Hubby is on his 2nd. I’m on my 4th iPhone. I haven’t used anything else since they came out. I have a friend that bought 2 different android phones and never used them because she couldn’t figure them out. She bought 2 different android pads and they were crap and she didn’t use them. I kept telling her get an iPhone and iPad. When she was ready for a new phone we walked into Verizon and she was telling the girl what she hated about the phone. The girl said....you need an iPhone. I said I told you so. Lol. She has since bought an iPad and has kicked herself for the money she wasted for 4 years on contracts with phones she didn’t use and the $200 she spent on tablets.
Right. But! You have to put all your music in one library. You can’t synch music from two different computers. It’s a pain.
