Came from a series of books I was reading at the time that for one thing explored the power of “envisioning”......it does work if you use it correctly.

I wanted something patriotic, something “American as Apple pie”, but apple and apple pie were taken. I dug around in my recipe box and came up with “Apple Pan Dowdy” and it stuck.
