Two opponents of a 12-year-old Alabama girl's decision to have an abortion after she was raped by a relative spoke out Wednesday during a news conference in Montgomery.
Win Johnson, former Legal Director for the Administrative Office of Courts under Chief Justice Roy Moore, and Lorie Mullins, Executive Director of COPE Pregnancy Center, who has counseled post-abortive women, spoke regarding the court's decision.
On Wednesday, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals granted the unidentified child's petition to have an abortion without parental consent, a decision that bypasses Alabama's Parental Consent law.
"There are two victims of this decision by the Court of Civil Appeals," Johnson said. "The unborn child and the 12-year-old mother."
Johnson went on, "In essence, what the courts are saying to this young girl is this: 'We, the courts of Alabama, consider you mature enough to decide to murder your own unborn child.'"

Planned Parenthood has been caught on tape coaching girls to lie about their age, their partners age, and the nature of the impregnation to avoid police investigations into child abuse and rape. PP is prorape and has left rapists walk and conspired to cover up such crimes.
This is tough. No 12 year old should have to face this decision.

I am strongly opposed to abortions but this child’s body is not mature enough to bear a child, and her life is in jeopardy if she does. Abortion is not a sin in this case, and should be done as quickly as possible so the fetus does not suffer.
The abortion could destroy her in so many ways. She is so young it could physically tear her up so that she never have kids again.
Never mind the guilt. 12 is too young to start with the guilt factor.
Abortion would tear her apart. Way too harsh. If given excellent pre-natal care she will be fine. If nothing else they can induce labor and have her deliver early.
There are rare instances when it’s the right thing to do.
A 12 year old will very likely be devastated physically and emotionally by childbirth. This should be done as early in the term as possible, so not to further traumatize the 12 year old with the sad, dangerous drama of a late term abortion.
What I am far more concerned with is who impregnated this child and have they been brought to justice yet?
Another instance that may justify this procedure would be in cases of incest. Many negative genetic traits can be passed on to the baby in such a pairing.
I understand many do not believe any circumstance at all ever justifies an abortion. All I have is my own opinion.
I cannot say how I would think if someone I cared about was in such a situation.

At least some of the adults in her life should be in jail for child endangerment an negligence ... not to mention the actual rapist.

She wont be in danger or her life in jeopardy...
she is more likely to die from an abortion or have her body so screwed up she cant ever get pregnant again or has miscarriages...
She doesn’t need to “bear a child” they can do a C-Section...
the point is she can have counseling and recover from the rape with her soul and mind intact but if she murders her baby she will have to live with the blood of an innocent child on her hands...knowing she sinned against God...
murdering one child in a vain attempt to “save” another will not work...
she might be young not but one day she would know just what she did and it would destroy her...
as for her body it was old and mature enough to get pregnant so it is old enough to carry that child...
plus even though shes 12 she may be my size or bigger...

Well put. The lack of compassion for this young girl by some people here is on par with ISIS and their views.
