” “Polish” and “polish”...”

Not to mention being the basis for a bad joke.

***Al Capone’s business card said he was a used furniture dealer.***

That’s funny. Wasn’t that the same thing that Obama’s maternal grandfather had on his business card in Hawaii or maybe Kansas? I’ve always been astounded that he could afford to send Obama to the Punahou School.

A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.

Nope, they live for many months. Must have meant "fruit flies".

Fun! But the one about the Canadian 2-dollar bill isn’t true. Their own flags are on their currency.

I wondered about that one.

“Live goldfish have excellent memories. They learn to recognize faces. They get excited when they see the familiar face that feeds them.”

Our goldfish does the above quite obviously. It also swims toward me when I wave my fingers a certain way and I can “lead” it around the tank a bit by doing that.

Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age!

Not according to the last doctor I asked about it.

The cruise liner, QE2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns.

This seems highly suspect; it would mean the ship burns 10,000 gallons per mile ... 10 million gallons (a quarter-million barrels) for 1000 miles.

If you present a list of “facts” some of which are demonstrably false, it casts doubt on all the rest.

Polar bears can eat up to 86 penguins in a single sitting.
Movie trailers use to be shown after the movie, hence the term trailers.
Coca-Cola would be green if coloring wasn’t added to it.
Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour. (Explains why Nancy Pelosi is so thin)
About 150 people per year are killed by coconuts.
The word “gorilla” is derived from a Greek word meaning, “A tribe of hairy women.” (So they were correct about Michelle Obama)

And finally....

The toothpaste “Colgate” in Spanish translates to “go hang yourself”

The Nazi party was a socialist party (the S in NSDAP stood for socialist). Therefore, the Nazi party was a left-wing organization.

Interesting, I didn’t know that Goldfish could type. You sound like one extremely offended, frustrated goldfish.

I’d love to see that! It sounds like a special fish.

I’ve watched videos of goldfish that have been taught to swim through plastic hoops in exchange for food. I wouldn’t have the patience to teach them such behavior, but they’re definitely capable of it.

Uh oh; now I’m “one extremely offended, frustrated” dragonfly:

‘A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.’

In fact:

‘A dragonfly has a life span of more than a year, but very little of that life is actually as an adult dragonfly. There are three stages of the dragonfly life cycle, the egg, the nymph, and the adult dragonfly. Most of the life cycle of a dragonfly is lived out in the nymph stage and you don’t see them at all, unless you are swimming underwater in a lake or pond with your eyes opened, of course.’

[The adult/winged phase of a dragonfly’s life cycle is typically ~two mos.]

A shake of a lamb’s tail is also a measurement of time.
I read that during the Manhattan project they came up with many ways to confuse spies and would be Turncoats.
Using jiffy and a shake of a lambs tail as units of time measurement must have really confused whoever because the secrets didn’t leak out until after the war.
