Why are people dumping birth control pills down the sink? And how many? Strange story. How about steroids? Are fish getting huge muscles?

It's not that women are dumping birth control pills down the sink. They're peeing hormone-contaminated urine: and not natural hormones, such as would break down rapidly at the wastewater treatment plant or in the biosphere, but artificial hormones such as biologically reconcentrate in key organs and nudge testes into ovary-like development. Of course, it tweaks brain development as well.
The subtle effects on males in very early developmental stages might not be observable til years later.

It is in their urine.
Of course that raises the question, as these hormones are what the body produces naturally when it is pregnant and there use to be many more pregnant females and animals peeing in the water with no filtration at all why didn't this happen in the past?
Was it happening and no one noticed?
Or is this study an "orange pop" study?
