According to a recent survey, seven percent of Americans believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows.
The survey was conducted by the Innovation Center of US Dairy in April. 1,000 adults 18 and over were asked questions about the role milk plays in their daily lives, Food & Wine reported.
The study found 48% of respondents weren’t sure where chocolate milk came from. Seven percent thought chocolate milk only comes from brown cows.
That adds up to about 16.4 million people, more than the population of Ohio.
The Washington Post linked the study to past studies that consistently show many Americans have no idea where their food comes from. For example, a study in the 1990s found that nearly 20% of people did not know hamburgers are made from beef.
Why?
Why would anybody think that?

Who said Common Core would ruin education? If the consensus of the third grade class is that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, then chocolate milk does come from brown cows!
Sad to say this but Im surprised that the mumber is this low. I base this on the fact that Ive been able to convince plenty of people that “hill cows” are real.
I have a...well, shes some kind of cousin, that is a vegetarian.
“That means I can only eat vegetables, fruit, hot dogs, pepperoni, and bacon.”
Shes dead serious.
I also have a neice by marriage that, like the woman in that clipping, didnt know that meat was animals. She thought it was something the grocer made.
My son made sure his son knew the difference between dairy cows, usually black and white Holsteins, and beef cattle. So one day we drive by a pasture with about 10 black and white paint horses and he said, “Oh look! Dairy horses.”
How stupid. Haven't they heard of white chocolate? /s

A “surprising number of Ameicans” gave an obvious answer to a stupid quesion.
If a surveyer asked you if chocolate milk came from brown cows, I bet you would say yes.If you think I am insulting your intelligence then you have a very Progressive sense of humor, to wit, NONE. I would have answered that of course, chocolate milk comes from brown cows and brown and whtet cows produce the brown and white cheese.
I’ve met too many of those people; they also think printing money is not a problem among other odd beliefs.
