The ending of Godfather Part II.

The segue from Michael's reflecting on a Corleone family dinner-table argument, as family members leave the table one by one, to the final image of Michael sitting alone in his backyard is brilliant.

Sure, Blade Runner has one of the best monologues in movie history (after the Indianapolis monologue in Jaws), but who can forget the ending to Commando, where Rae Dawn Chong and Ahnold get in the seaplane and fly off?

I got misty. I love seaplanes.

Too many to come up with one favorite. Saw a bunch already listed, so I'll go with Die Hard.

Just when you think it's over, one last shock and Al saves the day. When you watch on the reruns, you see as McClain is getting down to the ground, Al is reaching for his holster.

The guy who did the voice of the dog in A boy And His Dog also sang the title song!

And it’s a pretty bad song!

The Crying Game had a pretty good, but mightily yucky, ending. As I recall,

I just rewatched it after maybe twenty years. That, indeed, was a shocking ending. It was totally unexpected the second time around. Especially so for the era in which it was made.

The 1956 Invasion of the Body Snatchers when someone finally believes Dr. Bennell:

“Close all roads in and out of Santa Mira! Get me the FBI! Yes, it’s an emergency!!”

I know, the ending was a rewrite from the grim original, “You’re next! You’re next!!!” That’s show biz.
