I retired from the Army as a Field Grade Officer. Putting my career in jeopardy for a few hours of pleasure is not something I ever considered. I can only imagine the stares and comments when these guys walked their “ladies” past the group of other officers at 0430. I can only imagine the comments and broken furniture when these guys got home once mama knew what had happened as well. Now no career and no marriage. Tough price to pay.
I question the judgement of those who get themselves into these situations! I recall Ft. Bragg during the Vietnam war that all of us in SF (both officers and NCO’s) knew damn well that some wives were using both the main NCO club and especially the 82nd officers club to meet single men while their husband was in Vietnam. One of the bartenders at the club was married to a legendary SF SGM, and; I will always be grateful to her from giving me the heads up on married women.
That really jumps out doesn’t it? It’s 0430 and these officers parade the females in front of other personnel. Imagine what the officers who witnessed this thought at the time because they knew rules were being violated, and then imagine what they thought after finding out that the Colonel and the two Majors got rolled!
