A professional hunter was killed when an elephant that had just been shot fell on top of him, according to reports.
South African big-game bagger Theunis Botha, 51, was leading a hunt in Zimbabwe on Friday when his group accidentally walked into the path of a herd of breeding elephants near Hwange National Park and three of the elephant cows charged at them, the Telegraph reports.
Botha fired at the rampaging pack but was caught by surprise when a fourth cow came in from the side and picked him up with her trunk.

Do elephant hunters eat the meat, or kill to protect their farms...their loved ones?
If not, they are committing a crime against nature and God.
I know elephants are big, but you could have made the picture smaller. :-)
You win the thread.
Was he in his pajamas?
Do you only hunt the armed ones, or eat plants that can't even protect themselves or run from their slayers. How can plants and fruit protect themselves at all from people that pull them off the trees or out of the ground. At least the animals can run.
SAVE THE PLANTS AND FRUIT
I am having a hard time finding sympathy for the snowflake in you!!!
Talk about instant karma...
Because elefrunts are holy, and hurting one makes Mother Gaia cry ...
If you read the article, he was not hunting elephants.

Thank you. Not that the ignorami will listen ...
Well, good for the elephant. I’m not anti-hunting, but I am willing to give credit when the animals fight back.
Proper shot placement ... and, of course, using enough gun. I hear that it has been done with a .303. I wouldn't try it, personally. If I'm going to provide elephant stew to a whole African village (and pay for the privilege of doing so), I'll make damn sure Jumbo goes down promptly.
Ironic that the so called "unarmed" animal killed him isn't it?
In 64 years I have never hunted due to dynamics within my family growing up. It still really annoys me when people get their knickers in a twist over a practice that is as old as mankind and is probably the single thing that assured the survival of humanity.
Sheesh. A bunch of PETA tree huggers on this thread.
The anti-hunting, brain dead, don’t bother me with the facts ignoramuses will love this. The hunting community has done 10,000 times more to preserve elephants than these morons ever will but they prefer to go in to their emotive hand wringing act to attempt to present themselves as morally superior when the simple truth is that they are utterly clueless.
I find it beyond question that Man is the planetwide "apex predator".
“How could anyone kill an elephant”
Easy, you just don’t lead ‘em as much.
I saw a photo of this jerk with a dead leopard wrapped around his shoulders. Maybe he's the same one who was so proud of shooting a giraffe.
