When I remember my wonderful parents it makes me sad to think of kids who grow up with abusive ones.
People mock “Leave it to Beaver” and “Father Knows Best”. but those families were far far closer to our real home than the crap which they show now.
I saw on the local news yesterday that some guy had tortured his 2 and 4 year old kids. Actually not sure they were his but he needs to be removed from this earth as soon as possible.
Child abuse happened back then and before just was not heard about and to this extent.
A lot of our child abuse comes from Mommy’s new boyfriend or Daddy’s new girlfriend, something that was not common in your and my day.
It’s always been well known that a step parent is more likely to abuse a child over the real parent but in today’s world they don’t even marry it’s just BF or GF.
By the grace of God I too had a Leave it to Beaver or Father Knows Best childhood. And despite the moral decline, my children have had much the same. Married Christian parents make all the difference.

Years ago I remember reading about an experiment done on some Harlem teenagers.
They assembled them in a room and showed them episodes of “Leave it to Beaver”, “Father knows Best”, and “Ozzie and Harriet”.
Their prior predictions indicated they expected the teenagers to guffaw, holler, and hoot in mocking derision at the shows.
To their utter shock, the teenagers were absolutely mesmerized and loved the shows. The teenage girls said they would love to live the life they saw in these shows because of how respectful the husband was to the wife, etc.
