Sometimes feminists use the term “rape culture” to try to distill down the way our society seems set up to give rapists as easy a time as possible, while making things as shitty as possible on victims, especially if one feels compelled to publicly accuse someone of rape.
We got to see that dynamic play out in last week’s council meeting when they praised a man accused of sexual misconduct and called his alleged victims liars, which, God, if there’s a more shameful moment in our city this year, I hope I’m unconscious and can’t witness it.

There is no legal complicity. As for what the victim wanted, or thought she wanted, seems to me that’s best left up to a shrink to sort out. I just hope the victim is getting competent psychiatric help.

Given that modern psychiatrists think that GLBTQ and pedophilia are ‘healthy expressions of gender identity’ then I don’t have much hope that they’d actually help this girl.
What she really needs is a loving home that’s run by sensible adults.

My neighbor was saying that years ago his then teenage daughter warned him to never give her friends a ride home without her being in the car. She told him that they were liable to claim that he had propositioned them because having an adult male hit on them enhances their social standing in high school. Maybe Elizabeth Thomas was doing something similar on a much bigger scale. Or not. Can’t say I’ve paid this story all that much attention.

High school girls have a pretty bizarre fashion sense and you’d be amazed at what they will all do if someone convinces them it’s the popular thing to do.

I don't care how many people you deal with, the two are not the same and both the law and most other people make a distinction on that which you seem to be denying.

It does seem odd. But maybe it’s where they live. In SoCal teenage girls can have the ethics of, oh, a Great White Shark. Fortunately they usually use this talent on each other and not the innocent.
