Because it’s like someone goes out and steals some nuts and bolts from a railroad track; they go to college where they learn to steal the whole track.

I am constantly amused by those who either fail or refuse to understand what is occurring. If you alter your perspective, it would be apparent that Darwin's survival of the fittest is fully validated.

Am I addressing students aka prey? LOL - of course not; I am referring to thriving predatory administrators, professors and financiers.

What these groups have constructed, in the way of federally backed student loans packages and extensive university course offerings, is a way of extracting large premiums (rents) from the stupid & gullible. PT Barnum wouldn't have been more proud of what they have accomplished.

I've always thought that FR was a free-market sanctuary. Where are the congratulatory accolades praising what this group of capitalistic pioneers have achieved in the name of promoting socialism/communism?

Forget about college with its six-figure student debt. Try going to vocational school for a tiny fraction of that price and learn how to be an electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. and earn $70,000 to $100,000 per year starting out.

Here is a business idea...

A business that helps start ups. In the two examples that you provided, I bet that the owners/founders didn’t think through the process and may be too busy to run the business side.

Important Rules:

1. Manage the money. A person may be really good at repairing computers but terrible at running the business and the requisite counting the pennies, nickels and dimes.

2. As an owner, know your limitations and admit them and hire good people in the critical positions and with the right skill sets. Sometimes it is a pride issue — “it is nothing personal, just business.”

Since they stopped just teaching for the degree and getting out quickly. It has became a money making propaganda machine for the left not to mention a scam as you can not get out in the to long time they say to begin with, because of changes in courses for the degree while you are trying to get that degree. It is a massive scam.

For some, college is a 4-5-6 year exotic vacation.

No doubt, the college campus and campus life are very exciting and enriching. Unfortunately it is extremely expensive and at some point the student and eventual graduate (we hope) will have to enter the real world and get a job.

There should be two options for kids with the end goal of making a living — a trade or college and an marketable degree.

Higher education in America has been utterly destroyed by the left since the tenured radicals of the 1960s took control of it.

John Dewey is probably most famous for his role in what is called progressive education. Progressive education is essentially a view of education that emphasizes the need to learn by doing. Dewey believed that human beings learn through a 'hands on' approach.

Dewey's educational theories were presented in My Pedagogic Creed (1897), The School and Society (1900), The Child and the Curriculum (1902), Democracy and Education (1916) and Experience and Education (1938).

“What, you go to college to get stupid? You’re really stupid.” - Sonny Corleone, to Michael, “Godfather II”

The nonsense and higher education bubble starts to end at the state level. It starts with a conservative legislator speaking on the floor of the legislature to say several hard truths:

1) The purpose of state subsidies to higher education is so that students can have better jobs than they could with just a high school diploma or GED.

2) This means that those degrees with high rates of employment in that field of study within six months after graduation are worthy of being subsidized.

3) This also means that those degrees with little or no employment in that field of study within six months after graduation are NOT worthy of being subsidized, so should be DENIED funding not just for this reason, but because they DIVERT students from degrees that CAN benefit them.

4) This ABUSE of students is coupled with leaving many of them CRIPPLED BY DEBT FOR DECADES. So in addition to cutting off their funding, there should be a prohibition of the use of STUDENT LOANS to take these degrees in state funded institutions.

If these students and their parents wish to impoverish themselves, they are free to do so through private institutions. The state should IN NO WAY encourage or support their doing so through taxpayer funded institutions.

So, what legislator is going to make a name for himself by getting the ball rolling on this?

Michael however, turned out to be the smartest and most Ruthless Corleone. College did him good then.

But that was before the 1960’s...

Since the explosion of useless politically-infused majors that cater to social fads and victimhood, and that don’t require much effort.

Sometime prior to 1209.

That was the year the people of the town of Oxford, tired of the behavior of the students and sick of them claiming privilege, decided to hang a couple of them for murder.

Present day collages should heed the warning.

But they probably won't.

Chicago Justice is very well done and offers both points of view for a change, often leaning right. The most recent episode was very positive towards gun rights. The Literature Professor was portrayed as a know it all jerk. Refreshing.

We in the West are not only guilty of not “discouraging” the less fit to survive, we are encouraging and enabling them in many ways (ultra generous welfare, lower standards, etc)

This opens an opportunity for a country with a more sane culture to eventually take over us. Will the muslims be the ones? Or the Chinese? After all, survival of the fittest is still the law of the universe.

I entirely agree with your insight, however I must assume that your characterization of the current system as capitalistic is sarcasm.
Kleptocracy, which I find best describes the current system, is far from capitalism in that it transfers existing wealth instead of increasing through reinvesment and that, my FRiend, will find no praise here.

In this uncivilized world, it won’t be just political correctness that will cause the demise of Western Civilization, but it will also be our moral softness and inability to bring ourselves to the level of savagery necessary to kill every man, woman, and child of the enemy that threatens our survival.

When, and if, a people become too civilized to do what’s necessary to survive in an uncivilized world, they won’t survive, because they no longer deserve to survive, so good riddance...better luck next time around.
