Munoz says it so well:
UNITED CEO: This can never, will never happen again on a United Airlines flight

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz.AP
UAL United Contl
In an interview with GMA, Munoz said he apologized to the passenger identified Tuesday as Dr. David Dao and promised that nothing similar would happen on a United Airlines flight again.
The first thing that I think is important to say is to apologize to Dr. Dao, his family, the passengers on that flight, our customers, our employees that is not who our family at United is, Munoz said. You saw us at a bad moment, and this can never, will never happen again on a United Airlines flight. Thats my premise, and thats my promise.

No, he cant be, Munoz said when asked whether Dao was at fault in any way. He was a paying passenger sitting on our seat, in our aircraft, and no one should be treated that way.
“Let me ask you a question: suppose Dr. Dao had reacted like any normal adult, and simply departed in a mature fashion.”
1. Your question is frivolous; it’s not what happened. 2. How he acted cannot be defined as “immature”. That is merely your characterization. I hope for United’s sake that such a characterization is not their argument.
Go away. You have bored me for the last time on this.
“I am asking what the consequences of breaking the contract is, specifically the effect on Rule 25 in the UAL contract of carriage.”
For the last time, rule 25 did not apply. It was not a rule 25 situation. The airline’s time for that was at the gate before they boarded everyone. Done. Finished. Finito. Go pursue you mirage with a lawyer of your choosing. I won’t respond to your nonsense anymore.
That's nothing new. You haven't responded to any of my questions, yet. You just bob and weave with non sequiturs.
I ask if you think Rule 25 applies, you say "no." I ask what are the consequeence if Rule 25 doesn't apply, and you say it applies, somehow. I aks how it applies, and you revert to "it doesn't apply."
There is a real case here, Dao. What does UAL owe Dao for wrongly breaching the contract? That's not a mirage, you kook!
I think I'll keep posting to you just to get under your skin. Flame war ON!!!!
“Is this part of the story in the thread? I didnt see anything like that”
Yup.
See that little word in the ,middle.”Union.?”
“Munoz was asked point blank, on national tv, if Dao had done anything wrong. He saud, No.”
You’re an naïve little child if you think any CEO would ever say a derogatory comment about someone potentially engaged in a lawsuit.
“Angry United Airlines pilots union “
I can’t help it if you are too dumb to know the difference between a pilot and a pilot’s union. Sorry that confuses you. Maybe when you go outside you should wear a helmet.
“You dont know me, nor know what authority I have had (plenty).”
I know you are antiauthoritarian. That always symbolizes someone who has never had to wield authority.
“United executed his boarding pass”
Nice made up words, ‘executed’. Did they shoot it our hang it? Guillotine? Scissors?
Munoz had previously spoken in derogatory terms of Dao. Then additional video emerged, and Munoz realized his goose was cooked.
You missed the point.
Correct but that’s the (false) argument waged by libs on facebook and news article comment sections every day.
It is easily disproved but facts don’t matter to Stalinists.
“I know you are antiauthoritarian. That always symbolizes someone who has never had to wield authority.”
ROFL!!!!!! You know NOTHING.
That’s the problem. All the numerous arguments are about the intricacies of the law and of course the big winner in this is going to be some lawyer. It is sickening that our society can’t get along on basic standards of decency and common sense. We become overwrought with the intricacies of “should have, could have, would have,” instead of the basic argument that used to prevail, the carrier decides. I’ve been flying commercially for well over sixty years and yes I have been asked to give up my seat, but I have also been upgraded to first class without my knowledge as to why. I have also had my seat changed so that I would have empty seats on each side giving me more room on an overnight flight. Over the years i have received good service from all the carriers I have flown with including United. The spoilsport attitude of many travelers only leads to unrest among all. When asked to give up his seat the “doctor” should have complied. HE is the one responsible for the treatment he received exactly like the rioters who have to be dragged off by the police. Won’;t it just be wonderful when some terrorist is asked to leave and throws a fit like this ‘doctor” so he wins the support of the passengers and fear of the authorities? It will happen because so many people are STUPID and never think beyond the immediate.
An individual on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States who, by assaulting or intimidating a flight crew member or flight attendant of the aircraft, interferes with the performance of the duties of the member or attendant or lessens the ability of the member or attendant to perform those duties, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined [up to $100,000] under title 18, imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both. However, if a dangerous weapon is used in assaulting or intimidating the member or attendant, the individual shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life. (Pub. L. 103272, § 1(e), July 5, 1994, 108 Stat. 1244; Pub. L. 10756, title VIII, § 811(i), Oct. 26, 2001, 115 Stat. 382.)
He's lucky he's not going to prison.
The dr had patients to see at 8am the next morning. He explained that. There are serious issues for a dr who misses his rounds. That’s why Dao didn’t ‘volunteer.’
Another couple did volunteer. They wanted a few hundred dollars more than United was offering. Anybody with two brain cells would have negotiated with the willing passengers.
United chose to have a 69 yo man dragged off the plane, bleeding and injured. The CEO said that what happened was totally wrong, and unequivocally not Dao’s fault. In this case, I side with United’s CEO.
.....”He’s lucky he’s not going to prison”.....
This may back fire on him yet.
