When I can't find the answer.................... My wife's 2008 Mazda shows the gear the automatic is in. My 2016 Kia Soul does not and it bugs me. I've pounded the keys looking for detailed description of what the various HUDs display and none had anything about which gear the tranny is in.
So when all/me is confused I come here. Take a break from the MSM pounding Trump. Has/does anybody looked into or have one of these devices/HUDs? Do they display the gear?
Did I mention how happy I am to hear the term, “tranny” used in the conventional way?
You can download an app for your phone to have HUD display such as speed.
My caddy’s and vettes do.
First world problems.... :)
Buy a C7 Corvette.
Interesting. Our ‘09 Subaru doesn’t have any HUD, and yet indicates what gear you are in right on the dash. Sadly, it’s getting long in the tooth and will need to be replaced. I’m not looking forward to throwing “infotainment” into the decision about what to buy. It’s just one more thing to distract from the LIFE AND DEATH issue of driving safely. Guess I’m too old school....
I could care less what gear my vehicle is in. The computer does just fine setting shift points without my seeing it displayed. If I had a HUD, the most important display for me would be speed. Speed limit would be nice too.
Does it have gears, or is it a CVT?
Lots of the little cars are switching to CVT although I don’t see it on the list here:
