A news anchor discovered her husband had been killed in a car crash as she delivered the breaking news on live TV.

Supreet Kaur, who reads the news for India’s IBC24 channel, somehow managed to retain her composure as a reporter gave details about the horror smash over the phone.

The reporter didn’t identify the victims by name but said three out of five people in the car were dead.

They said: “But we did not tell her. We did not have the courage.”

They should have found the courage, ending the broadcast early and breaking it to the poor lady. Letting her find out on the air as she read the news is appalling.

The news business is full of cowards. That's why they all vote progressive.

Someone should have stopped this from happening. Someone should have read the report before giving it to her.

If she had broken down while reading it, it would have been perfectly natural. Nothing to be ashamed of.

People piss and moan about the most petty and inane things and attach great drama to their suffering "Someone was at the Dunkin Donuts window with a big order and I was late for work - waaaaa!"

Imagine the day this poor woman is having.

Prayers.

It doesn’t work that way.

It’s called ‘Rip and Read’ from the old news teletype days.

Now days the field reporter calls in with a ‘Big Story’, the TD puts up the ‘Breaking News’ alert, and then they put the reporter on live.

Except for knowing it was a car wreck, no one usually knows anything else.

Thank you! Exactly right!

There seems to be an outbreak here of presumptuous jerks who don’t know what they’re talking about - and just make crap up. I have to check my URL just to see if this is still FR!

Right on chaos

Of course like has been suggested they told her (thought they said she was on the phone with reporter) EVERYONE would have damned them for exploiting her while watching her breakdown.

Of course I am considered ‘cold’ or unemotional as if I were to receive a report like that and maintain my calmness and hold it together while still ‘on the job’, I would become an immediate suspect as everyone figures one must roll on the floor crying if you hear bad news....

Almost like using a credit card and it doesn’t work.
If you DON’T KNOW what is wrong, most people just shrug, mumble something to themselves and get another card.

Now, if the person KNOWS something is probably wrong with the balance, they tend to start screaming at everyone and make a huge scene.

I don’t know about that. It was the kind thing to do, if they did tell her she might have Rightfully Freaked out on the air!
