Trump to warring factions of the West Wing: 'Knock it off'

President Trump appears to be getting impatient with the infighting between his closest advisers.

The White House is becoming increasingly split between Steve Bannon, who favors a more nationalist approach to domestic and foreign policy, and Jared Kushner and senior economic adviser Gary Cohn, both of whom have tried to bring the president toward the center on key issues such as immigration reform.

Trump has not been impervious to the strained relationship between his closest confidants, and he issued a warning to his inner circle on Thursday at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told Axios . "You guys are close. Knock it off. Work together," Trump said. The New York Times reported that the order was aimed at Bannon and chief of staff Reince Priebus, regarding the increased squabbling between Bannon, Kushner, and Cohn.

For the time being both Jarad and Ivanka are an asset that’s good there as Trump gets his people in and positioned. He needs all the eyes and ears he can get from people he trusts...I have no isssue with that.... Also both have certainly held their own and more in their family businesses....strong and independent thinkers just as they were raised to be. They are entitled to their opinions which would be heard by Trump regardless if they’re in the White House or not.

IMO this is temporary and most likely Ivanka will be on her own once Melania adapts to her position and is living with her son in the Whitehouse. But I rather like the idea at present as is. Including her sitting in on meetings.

As for Jarad....the guy is one smart man and also an asset. And he certainly being positioned as an advisor is no different than others who hired their staff from their campaigns....Aside from Trump Jarad is very much responsible we have Trump as President for he laid out the framework for his campaign...which won him the primary and the Presidency over others. That is not to discredit the voters, but his rallies and where he held them was determined by Jarad...and worked great for those who needed to hear him where it ‘counted’.

Trumps a wise individual....and this is not so big he can’t manage differences...he’s spent his life doing so..and that with his family being issues for some along the way.

P.s. Trump did say throughout his campaign he’d be hiring soie people we might not like to get the work done..in fact that he knew we wouldn’t like.

and he is right, many do not like J/I at all!

We must assume that Ivanka has attended meetings from the start at the behest of DJT. We know how much he loves his daughter. That said, I see her as a Trojan Horse and an DJT’s Achilles Heel. Yes, she loves her dad, and wants him to be successful, but is success defined as achieving her liberal goals? That’s what is not wanted.

Jared being successful managing the presidential campaign tells me he should manage the re-election campaign. It tells me nothing more than that.

DJT has a right to have whoever he wants as his advisers. And we have a right to express our disgust at some of his picks.

What does naturalization really mean? Keeping a nation the same natural kind.

[Uh, what the F is “Axios”, anyway? And why should we care?]

Best I have it figured Axios is either a new breakfast cereal or a basketball shoe.

The New York Times reported that the order was aimed at Bannon and chief of staff Reince Priebus, regarding the increased squabbling between Bannon, Kushner, and Cohn.

So there's conflict between Kushner, Preibus, and Bannon. Trump warns Preibus and Bannon to play nice. Kushner, apparantly, has won. If the NY Times is to be beleived.

I don’t see any way that Trump will get 60 votes in the Senate for anything. I bet Trump won’t get a thing done because of the Democrats in the Senate. We really need 60+ seats after 2018. These next 15 months or so are going to be trial and error. Most things Trump tries will not happen. I hate that we need 60 votes. 51 votes should be enough. Yes even when Democrats are in charge they should get what they want with 51 votes. 60 votes is a made up stupid Senate rule not given by the founders.
