I’m a professional DJ and for the past 15 years I have entertained at a Father/Daughter Dance. It was one of the highlights of my year. Because my daughters became old enough to go with me. Fathers were dressed in suits and daughters looked like little princesses. This year I was told that we may not do the dance next year because a ‘few’ women were complaining that it wasn’t inclusive enough. I went home shaking my head. Sad times.

Men have had to give up male only schools and universities, Boy Scouts, Military schools, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marines, the Special ops, Firefighting, Policing and Construction all to women.
When someone complains what ever happened to the words: So What?
Those are constructive ideas.
What should be done about the classmates who say there is no dad because the girl is fat and ugly? Or about the people who believe that human anger (name-calling, etc) can accomplish the righteousness of God?
The mom could have done things differently, I know. We don’t know how she handled things in the 6 years before this. But I DO know what bullying (that is winked at by school administrators) can do to a kid and his/her parents. It sounds like there was a history of this little girl being shamed for a lot of things beyond her control.
We don’t know if this mom had any male friends in her life, who could have taken the daughter to the dance. We know nothing of her story. It just seems like people are quick to assume and speak, and much, much slower to actually listen.
That’s what really bothered me about the Milo situation. Milo could have told us a lot about what molested young men go through and how they deal with it. It could have been a real opportunity for listening, learning, and healing/reconciliation. But no, we had to be too “holy” to actually love and listen.
Ugly. Ugly doesn’t fix other ugly.

Jesus had a reputation as “friend of whores and tax collectors”. If you put me in the same category as Him, I am honored. Not because I condone what they - or myself, when I sin - have done, but because I LOVE them with the same love He has given me.

Jesus came save souls but he never encouraged or accepted their sinful behavior. Note that there where no whores as Jesus disciples and Jesus talked about helping widows and orphans, never sluts and their bastards.

Sorry, I know this is kind of strange, but I am reminded of a sub-plot in a recent episode in a Korean drama regarding a little girl and the last day of school, which was “family day.” In typical fashion, like schools around the world, the kids did a presentation for their adoring parents/families who were all taking pictures in the audience.
This little girl was the child of a single mom who could never make it to the last day because she was working. So the little girl always dreaded the last day because she was the only one without any family present and was treated as a real outcast by the other girls at school.
Anyway, the heroine of the series, who had by chance befriended the little girl and vice versa (they would share drinks and snacks at the 7-11 where they had first run into each other), realized this was happening, and ended up surprising the little girl by showing up at the family day with several of her friends and saying they were the little girls’ aunt and uncles. They had banners and balloons and flowers for the girl. It was a nice little scene of kindness.

Blaming men doesn’t work to change behavior. We’ve tried penalizing and blaming men for 50 years now and behavior and outcomes have only gotten worse. Compare that to the traditional methods of enforcing low status on sluts and their bastard offspring and it’s clear that traditional methods work better.
Men and women are not equal and different standards are applied due to this unequalness.
And there’s kids like me, whose fathers were killed by drunk drivers.
I’ve always hated school activities that are only for the father or only for the mother, because there are kids whose parents are widowed or divorced, and it just makes the kids feel left out for no reason.
There’s no reason to be judgmental toward this mother. We don’t know why she’s a single mother. And if she’s devoted enough to her child, that she’ll go to such extremes to make her little one happy...that’s something to be praised, not criticized.
I want the conservative party to be open to younger people. That includes folks like Milo and even Ms Tomi Lahren, We need people like her too.
Milo will return to the stage when all the dust has settled.
After that Berkeley riot, followed by the accusations that Milo was somehow advocating sex with children I thought to myself that he should simply ‘go away for a few months, step out of the news cycles. Completely out for a while.
Maybe others advised him to do the same. Sometimes a momentum to create and build can be exchanged for a momentum to destroy and dissect.
Hopefully, Milo has learned some valuable lessons about the power of subtle messages. I would advise him to stay out of the news until at earliest, late summer or early autumn. Americans will forget the sharpest areas of concern if he can keep his mouth shut for a while, and stay away from certain third rail topics as much as is possible.

WHAT?!? Do you know how it traumatizes children, when they’re adopted? You need to talk to more adults who were adopted children. Every last one internalizes the rejection, and suffers greatly from it.
No mother should give up the sacred mother-child bond, just because the bio-father is a jerk. You know what this child needs? Her biological mommy, and that’s exactly what she’s got.
And Georgia is a state with a large military contingent

Where in that text did Jesus call the woman a sinner? Where did He say ANYTHING publicly about her?
After all the people had dropped their stones and left (the older, wiser ones first - the ones who had had a lifetime to realize their own sin), Jesus told the woman He also would not condemn her and told her to go and sin no more.
If public shaming was the way to redeem broken sinners, then Jesus would have acted a lot differently than He actually did. I’m inclined to believe the Scripture that says it is the Lord’s KINDNESS that leads us to repentance.
Jesus did use harsh words at times - usually on the self-righteous, whose sin was private enough that others didn’t judge them all the time.
Sounds to me as if this mom had already had six years of all the “holy” people reminding her daughter that all the problems in her life were her fault. Yet none of that fixed anything, did it? The child still didn’t have a father in her life, and that’s all that matters, right?
That’s how it should be. We should lift each other up in kindness.
I wonder if this mom had supportive people in her life.
Oh my goodness. How did you get to be so all knowing. YOU have NO information as to why this child does not have a father in her life. Quit sounding like you do.
You have misread the article. It specifically said that their were other mothers had children with no dad around. Plus the fact that no matter what mom is or isn’t , this little girl should not be treated this way.
You are the only one who concluded that ALL the other children had fathers. No one else drew that conclusion...because the article says otherwise
