Trump and Healthcare

Today we are witnessing one of the most important events in political history. But you probably can’t see it because the news is talking about healthcare, and how Ryan and Trump totally failed to get enough votes.

The real story is happening in parallel with the healthcare story, and that’s what renders it invisible.

As a “healthcare provider”, I've been numeralized for over a decade by the MANDATED NPI "National Physician Identifier" number. The NPI number is just waiting for “Final Enslavement of Doctor” Day or FED day when government grants itself all power to control my practice via Socialized Medicine or "Single Payer". That will be the day all of us who love what we do suddenly stop caring deeply what happens to your life, if we still do right now.

I sure hope you’re wrong. The problem with the ACA in the first place is mandatory participation by everyone in some way or another.

It’s a good goal to want everyone covered but look at what the taxes look like in countries that have single payer health coverage. Over 50%. So while the goal is good on paper; in real life it will hurt more than it helps; at least in America. We also have a different attitude about things like this. We don’t like to be told we have to buy a product we may or may not want and we certainly don’t want to be told what brand and model.

Some of us might want a low end Kia while others might prefer a high end Cadillac. The ACA doesn’t really give people those kind of choices and it’s mandated anyway so it’s no good.

They should just give Trump the same bill they gave obama on repealing the ACA. Make it a phased out plan over 2 years and phase in a new OPTIONAL market driven plan so after 2 years anyone who doesn’t want it won’t have it and those who do; will have the level of coverage they think they need and put together a higher risk pool for those of us with pre-existing issues. It sucks but those who use the insurance more and get a lot more out of it will simply have to pay higher rates than those who are healthy and just want something as a back up.

They can even do this in a way that won’t detrimentally affect the next Presidential election or if done right; will help Trump get re-elected.

You don't want a "low end Kia." Take the steps you need to avoid this.

I've seen the misery, both physical and mental, that this choice forces on you and your loved ones.

I get your point and agree we should all have the best we can afford because the option could very well be losing everything just pay medical bills. I was speaking for those who are younger and healthy but want something in case things go sideways that will pick up the tab after $5k copay or something like that they can afford. Basically health insurance not used unless in an accident or cancer or something like that hits.

It’s called reality. The Freedom Caucus is, I think, 26 votes. That’s 10% of the house. Add in people like Chris Stewart of UT, a good guy, but not a member, you might get to 30.

The “moderates” are at least that many, getting the same stuff in their ears from the opposite direction. That’s a democratic republic. Unlesd you want Trump to act unconstitutionally, your job is to work on the “moderates”.

Apparently interstate portability was not something they could just add to a reconciliation bill since it was not in the original.

I am no expert at all, so perhaps you could consult a source on House procedures and inform us all. But that’s what I am told.

“It’s called reality.”

“The “moderates” are at least that many, getting the same stuff in their ears from the opposite direction. That’s 10% of the house. Add in people like Chris Stewart of UT, a good guy, but not a member, you might get to 30...” blah blah blah blah blah

Here you are acting like Paul Ryan, and saying, oh, this is just “reality”.

You are letting the process get in the way of principle. Trump doesn’t have to let the process get the way of principle. Trump was elected because he is the outsider and not stuck inside with the process. Step aside, act on principle, do not be stuck as Paul Ryan within the process.

A “democratic republic” cannot act unconstitutionally. In this country, this is what the “republic” part is - following constitutional law. There are constitutional ways to handle this. The “democratic” part of this country cannot usurp the “republic” part and create unconstitional acts.

I don’t believe you understand the Law of Unintended Consequences.

You want to live a world of expediency - marked by simpleton excuses. Well, if Trump continues down this path, the Law of Unintended Consequences will catch up. His name will be tarnished. He will be viewed with Obama, and Hillary, RINOs, and GOPe, someone that has no knowledge of right and wrong (principle). Someone that has no knowledge of legal or illegal. Someone that is willing to trample the Constitution and call it “reality.” This is what you call “reality.”

On the other hand. Trump can do what is right. It is not that which is easy, it will be the hard road, but it will be the right road. This is what many elected him for. Because he has the strength to do what is right. In this case of healthcare, the right road is to follow the Constitution, and let the states or the people decide. Another way to follow the Constitution is to lead a amendment to give the authority to the federal government, just like with alcohol.

Any other way than as described previously, such as your “reality”, is tyranny.

Take this to “Team Trump.” This is reality.

Wow, you really are clueless. You do get that we live in a government that has distinct separation of powers, right? That “process” is precisely the Constitution that has served us for over 200 years, and it’s not a minor thing. Presidents don’t create law.

No, I won’t take anything you say to team Trump since you appear to not understand the Constitution and “limited government.”

“Wow, you really are clueless.”

Reading comprehension isn’t one of your strong suits I see. This makes you so clueless and ignorant.

You may want to actually read what I wrote.

Try again.

IMO if the GOP was serious about healthcare reform they would have put forth a serious proposal and passed it.

The problem with Republican leadership is that they are weak, corrupt and cannot face adversity. Given these facts its in their best interest to let Ocare fail then collude with Dems to come up with single payer, call it bipartisan so they don’t have to take any heat and use the Dem votes to override the conservatives. Its just too easy to pass up.

The instant Ryan closed out the Senate in preparation for his secret bill, it was going nowhere. This is all on Paul Ryan's head, I do not believe he ever intended to change a darn thing about how government funds healthcare.

End taxpayers funding ‘faith based charities’... We spend billions on illegals healthcare and education... largely funneled through a few ‘faith based charities’.

I think you may be missing the point. We can’t allow single payer because it would create a massive new government bureaucracy that won’t work like it should. Just look at the VA system for proof. What a mess with 6 month and longer wait times to see a specialist and vets dying left and right while waiting. Nope; single-payer would be the worst self-destructive thing to happen to this country since Reagan 1986 Amnesty. I’ve been caught up in that mess and believe me you don’t want it. The country needs to stay as far away from single-payer health care forever and with everything we can fight with. It’s a lose-lose proposition.

No. Our goal is to downsize the over-bloated government, which Prez Trump is now doing, not increase it in any way other than defense and border protection both of which are basically defense.

I didn’t say I was for single payer. I said that’s whats coming. Sundance has a really good article on it at Conservative Treehouse.
