Why Does Most of the World HATE Peanut Butter?
Self | March 25, 2017 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 03/25/2017 2:01:39 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

The other days I got the munchies for peanut butter so I put some on bread and enjoyed it. I also like peanut butter in ice cream as well as cookies. Also I like peanut butter shakes. Okay, by now you guessed it...I like peanut butter. And I'm sure most of you do too.

So my big question is why does most of the rest of the world HATE peanut butter while it is very popular with North Americans (Americans and Canadians)? I read that peanut butter is so hated by most of the rest of the world that once some aid organization sent crackers and peanut butter to some starving nation and the folks rejected it.

There has to be a reason why North Americans love peanut butter while most of the rest of the world hates the stuff.

It is unnecessarily high in sugar.

The 25% reduced sugar and fat peanut butter still tastes great.

I question your premise. What makes you think the rest of the world doesn’t like peanut butter?

I've read that plus personal experience. Most foreigners really HATE peanut butter.

Oh, try telling them that!

Interestingly, British vegans, in search of anything sweet, are starting to buy Oreos in massive amounts causing the British biscuit market a little tremor. They are also infatuated with mint-flavored Oreos - which I’d like to try.

I love peanut butter and often have it for breakfast on a piece of bread.

I like peanuts but hate peanut butter. I don’t know why. The consistency does not please me nor the smell.

Someone on FR told me once that peanuts are like poison to the digestive system of some people.

There was a song about this: If you like peanut butter, and getting caught in the rain

The guy that wrote that, also wrote a song about Cannibalism.

When buying peanut buter, it’s important to look at the ingredients label. It should only have one thing: Peanuts.

The texture is absolutely awful with reduced fat. It’s like glue.

This has puzzled me for some time so I am most interested in looking for the answer.

Post modern and marxist racism.

My favorite is peanut butter stuffed jalapenos - the hose specialty of a restaurant high in the hills overlooking Denvor (cannot remember their name). Hard to believe, but really great!

I have a steady supply and large store of peanut butter which I enjoy any number of ways. The sentiments held by the rest of the world are immaterial, and as irrelevant to my happiness as being informed that the French revere Jerry Lewis as a comic genius, to which I reply:

And?

It’s a common misconception that George Washington Carver invented peanut butter. The inventor was “Wellville” eccentric John Harvey Kellogg.

Plus we became familiar with uses of the peanut thank to the work of George Washington Carver
