94-year-old Loraine Maurer has been working at McDonald’s for 44 years and has no plans of retiring anytime soon.
“If you don’t like your job, it’s a job, but I love it,” she tells PEOPLE. “The people, the clientele, that’s why I stuck with it.”
Since 1973, Maurer has worked at a number of locations in Evansville, Indiana. During the winter months, everyone from her fellow McDonald’s coworkers to loyal customers have offered to pick her up and drop her off at home after her shift.
“I know what goes on with them, I know some of their children. Some ask me to say a prayer and I do,” she says. “I know their lives.”

“Pick parents that live to be a 100.”
It is simple really. We have little control over our lifespan. It is genetically predetermined.
I think some McDonalds have really good food.
There are some, which seem to have gone off-track, but others seem to be top-notch.
I think if you pick a good McDonalds, and pick well from what is available, you can eat quite well.
All depends on your assortments of food, I think.
I tend to avoid the ghetto locations. Notwithstanding the food, self-preservation is rather important to me.
Within limits, it is.
But you can definitely accelerate your demise, or lengthen it, by what you do, eat/how you eat, sleep, and what you are exposed to.
And I bet she never demanded $20/hour either.
Yes you can. Car+Tree = much lower life time. Excessive alcohol = ditto... but who want to live to be a 100?

It depends where you live, under what kind of system you live in, and what quality of life you can live.
For example, i would not want to live to 100 under a despotic tyrranical system.
Conversely when Jesus returns I will have no problem living with Him in perfect glory for the rest of eternity.

I triple dog dare you to try to eat a McD biscuit, by itself, nothing to drink.
I used to sort of “fear” being caught up in the air
because heights sort of nauseate me; but now I realize I’ll
have an IMMORTAL body like Jesus has and can walk through
walls or levitate into the air without fear or nausea.
(The stone didn’t have to be rolled away from the opening of
the tomb so that Jesus could get OUT. It was rolled away so
mortals could get IN to see His empty tomb.)
She’s not a cutie pie (I was just on another thread where we were discussing how older people are described as cute, honey dear, etc. Just because they’re older). she’s a great inspiration, though. I hope I can be like her if the Lord allows me to reach that age!
