Whatever it was it looks like it missed the house to me.
From WSB TV.....
“The Federal Aviation Association said a Cessna Citation I aircraft en route to the Fulton County Airport went down east of the Cobb County International Airport/McCollum Field around 7:20 p.m.”
Not a prop plane as you surmised.....My daughter’s first hand account was accurate..
Moderate winds, overcast 5500, 68 degrees. Weather shouldn’t have been a factor.
The crash occurred at a house on Vistawood Lane.
Citation I is, at best, a 30 year old airplane.
Citation 1 - 500
Getting old....
Definitely not weather related....
My daughter watched it for 10 seconds before impact plus she had a great view point...
She is on her way home now and when she gets in I’ll get a complete report....
Then I’ll post....
Thanks. Looks like her reports are accurate. The engines are sitting side by side and the debris field is small.

Save the jokes for another thread.
They quit flying bank checks around the country after 9/11. The Check 21 Act converted almost all check transactions to electronic after the paper hits the first bank. There are a few banks that aren't on board yet, but most checks are handled this way now.
N8DX. It looks like it was assigned 3,000 ft on the approach but the altitude varied significantly for several minutes. Last ground speed marker was 55 kts
I am very interested in that report. I fly Citation IIs along with several other fixed and rotary aircraft. I consider the Citation really safe and easy to fly. Not exceptionally docile, but very stable. Simple systems, no gotchas that I can think of. Only weird mishap I know of was an autopilot that the crew either couldn’t or forgot to disconnect.

Looks like your daughter reported very accurately. Citation 500 just spun out of sky from 3800’.
SCARY for your brother and his family. What a relief plane didn’t land on him. Prayers for him and the neighbors who were hit and those who live nearby. So traumatic.
I dunno what the winds were like but 55Kph ground speed is way below stall for that type.

Exactly so, ng. Good advice.
