Iowa Rep. Steve King: Muslim Children Preventing 'Our Civilization' From Restoration

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), a conservative came under fire Sunday for the commentary he attached to a tweet about far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders.

Critics on social media contend King's Twitter post is racist and implies civilization can't improve if it's populated with babies of immigrants, specifically Muslims.

Mr Wilders, who met past year with Mr King and who travelled to Washington in 2015 at Mr King's invitation to discuss Islam, is among a number of politicians in Europe who have sparked controversy with their views on race and culture. The tweet raised several questions for some - whose babies are we talking about, exactly?

King has often made provocative comments about "civilization" and what he perceives as a declining role in its development for white Christians.

The often strident Wilders is sometimes referred to as the "Dutch Trump".

Polls for the Netherlands' March 15 election have shown Wilders in a close race with incumbent Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

The BBC story plays up King’s support of Geert Wilders position in the Netherlands with the election on Wednesday.

Geert Wilders is defending Western nations from cultural attack and comes from a very conventional political background.

Wilders was in the Liberal Party of the Netherlands before he started the Party of Freedom.

The Liberal Party is like the Republicans in the USA.

Nothing extreme about King or Wilders.

Fortunately, King represents western Iowa. He would not be elected in the central or eastern part of the state.
