Alvernia University has announced that it will change its university nickname, which has been Crusaders since the 1970s.

A task force appointed by the president, and representing the university, will invite students, faculty, staff, and alumni to submit ideas for consideration. President Flynn plans to announce the new nickname in June, with the new name being put into use immediately.
According to Franciscan scholars, Alvernias patron saint, Francis of Assisi, marked a major transition in his spiritual journey when he turned away from the Crusades and pursued a life of peacemaking, including his famous trip to meet the Sultan, Malik al Kamil.

Dhimmis?
How about “Cuddly Puppies”, or “Sweet Innocents”. Maybe these wouldn’t be offensive to anybody.
Historically it was “Croisade” meaning “The Way of the Cross”. Academia has many sympathizers for the Conquest.
Marshmallows
How about the Liberal Ass-kissers? Or the Moronic Educators?
How about the Alvernia Pacifists. Instead of the cheerleaders chanting “Fight!” and “Win!” they could rouse their fans with “Negotiate a tie” and “defeat with honor”.
faggots
Crusades were in response to the Muslim Jihadists cutting
a wide swath of attack & conquer across the entire world.
They were only stopped at the Gates of Vienna where the
Christians of Vienna STOOD and DEFENDED their city and
their faith from the murdering hordes.
(Vienna had learned a lesson from a previous attack on a
city which had welcomed a small group of Muslims to live
in their city. Their “poor visitors” opened the gates to
the city and let in the Jihadist armies that proceeded to
MURDER every person in the city of 100,000 people and
tossing the bodies into the river that ran through the
city. The river ran red with the blood of Christians.)
Change from Crusaders to ‘mooselimb eradicators’, feel better snowflakes?
Why not “SnowFlake”?
THAT WOULD BE PERFECT!!!!!
I grew up in Reading, and even then, Alvernia was though of as something of a joke. . .
New nickname Day Care
My college’s nickname is also Crusaders. It is a church-sponsored school but has gone quite liberal since I attended. It wouldn’t surprise me if they went with a more PC nickname.
my niece graduated from there as a nurse....per my brother, it is a very conservative Catholic university, and has high tuition...
yep, we were the “Crusaders” in high school...
Do you know if it has tranny bathrooms?
