A Russian mayor has declared his town - bordering the European Union - a 'gay-free zone' with officials in other districts close to Vladimir Putin's home city of St Petersburg enthusiastically following suit.
'They won't get here, even from the West,' boasted Sergey Davydov, who runs Svetogorsk, which is on the frontier with Finland.
His prejudiced stance has led to online ridicule from critics, with the former military commissar being branded a 'clown' and an 'idiot' for supposing he has no homosexual people among a population of 15,000.

I was thinking this morning, would it be so bad if Russia conquered western europe. But then I remembered eastern europe. They are good guys stuck in the middle.

I don’t get why people celebrate this.
Any government with power to expel gays also has the power to expel you when they decide they don’t much care for you either.
That’s a great start. Imagine how peaceful it would be here without all the gay dour hate America and God nonsense. There are a few other groups I’d show the door but I won’t mention them because I’d be banned. I am not a very nice person at all

While I agree, I also understand the impulse to celebrate it. The Gaystapo has been so overt in repressing anyone they disagree with, this seems like push-back.
Of course, in the broader scheme of things, you are right.
Poland is every bit as socially conservative as Russia, without all the craziness.

Poland has long been my “country of last resort” - if the US had somehow put Hillary as President, I would quite possibly be living in Poland now.
Socially conservative, respectful, hardworking society. What’s not to like?
The other country I thought about is Slovakia, for much of the same reasons.
Queers have suicide, murder, and communicable disease rates 10-30 TIMES higher than straights.
So that is why you expel gays. There are also reasons you expel islamofascists. I’m sorry but all government is an exercise in power. Either for sexual and moral insanity (the left) or for the opposite (conservatives). I have never seen pure libertarianism work anywhere. It’s a nice theory.
Niceness is highly overrated.
God is loving and merciful. But also the sword of judgement. Read the entire bible and show me where he is nice. Jesus wasn’t ‘nice’. He was harsh. He died for us and is the definition of love - but he said Himself He came to bring a sword of spiritual division - not peace as the world defines it.
Or the modern church. Which wants to toss everything God demands onto the alter of ‘niceness’ and sacrifice it in order to be friends with the world. The end days apostasy.
I’m not advocating libertarianism. I’m advocating against instituting a police state.
Any .gov that can expel those you don’t like will eventually expel you. Or kill you.
