Brooklyn cops broke up a huge, Virginia-based weapons-smuggling outfit and seized 217 weapons — the biggest firearms bust in the borough’s history, authorities said Wednesday.
Suspect Antwan Walker was recorded on a wiretap saying there’s a nonstop flow of legally purchased guns in Virginia — so much so, said Walker, that “In Virginia I can give guns away.”
“If we can get paid for doing this, you know what I mean? I can buy a gun and go to the same store tomorrow,” Walker said in wiretaps, “and I can do that Monday through Friday.”
Walker was also recorded telling a colleague that their business was all about volume.
“We are trafficking. We are the big dogs,” he said in recordings played by the NYPD and Brooklyn DA. “We’re in this to get the orders up.”
All the weapons seized were purchased legally by suspects or their straw buyers in Virginia, officials said.
“We’re going to go after anyone who brings illegal firearms into our city and into our borough,” acting Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez told reporters, standing behind a podium and displaying some of the seized guns.
The weapons included AK-47s, AR-15s, Tommy guns, Mossberg 715Ts and MAC-10s, officials said.

I presume you're a 2nd Amendment supporter. I'd suggest you rethink that. NY, city and state aren't the issue, Antwan's illegal activity, federal and I presume Virginia as well, is the issue. Straw purchases are illegal. I support that. Sales to "people who can't own them", felons and mentally ill a danger to others, is illegal. I'm OK with that too. You're advocating the position of the gun grabbers. Gunowners support the free ownership of firearms by everyone. Felons, gang bangers, the dangerous mentally ill. Not the best idea.
This reeks of Fast & Furious. First off, gun dealers don’t sell in these volumes to the same people over and over. Second, anyone with half an ounce of grey matter doesn’t brag about it if it is a business they are running. I suspect total BS set up by the deep state to convince the average, non-gun owning idiot that “gins are bad and need to be controlled and restricted!”

Dont be TOO sure that some patriotic citizens aren’t buying guns on the black market in some parts of NYC.
Some have a GREAT disdain for the city and state leadership and don’t give a #### when it comes to protecting family.

I had a friend who used to like to go to their neighborhoods anyway and tap them with his car at red lights and then burst out laughing.
The first time I was terrified. Then I got used to it. They probably figured he was an insane italian (he was) and always kept moving along. :)
