FULL TITLE: Trump offers Planned Parenthood way out of being defunded telling it: Stop abortions and you will keep federal cash
The White House has informally offered to keep taxpayer dollars in place for Planned Parenthood – as long as the organization no longer provides abortions, the New York Times has learned.
The deal shows how President Trump is being pulled between his conservative base, and Republican members of Congress who want to swiftly defund the group, and his daughter Ivanka Trump, who has supported the women's healthcare provider.
For Planned Parenthood, closing up the abortion side of the clinics is a non-starter, especially since taxpayer dollars can't legally fund abortions anyway.

Just wondering how many of those abortions were recreational abortions meaning a one night stand got her pregnant vs saving the life of the mother; which in that case the woman would have gone to the emergency room at her local hospital.
I did not vote for Ivanka and l’m sick of her throwing up liberal roadblocks. She has stalled several things IF l am to believe what l have read.

Interesting, but fact remains that government should never fund any non profit, period. It is a violation of my free speech for the speech funding of big industries.
He is not being pulled. This is exactly what he said in the campaign. Rather than fight the lie the PP does more than abortions and provides other women health services. He simply said, fine, stop the abortions and I’ll fund the rest.
It’s a very simple solution. He doesn’t have to prove PP doesn’t do other things. And he can’t be accused of not funding the other things, whatever they may be.

You know what they say about Dads and daughters. When my daughter gives me THE LOOK, my spine turns to jelly and I’ll immediately buy her a $100,000 sportscar.
Even if this was Ivanka’s idea it’s brilliant. Abortion is like 99.9% of PP business. They could not stay in business or at least make a large profit if they just did contraception and STD screening. This time they’d have to offer good contraception, you know ones that really prevented pregnancy. Not defective, cheap condoms and better quality birth control pills. Or offering IUD, Norplant and other devices.
Local health dept. and free clinics do this with other services. They have have to offer **gasp** prenatal and post natal care to keep their heads above water. Some of their clinics would even have to offer those boob X-rays known as Mammograms.
Buuuuuut they are not interesting in actual medicine just killing babies for $$$$$$

This is the fix. I understand and respect the views of people that oppose birth control. We have to win when we can. Stopping PP abortions is the start.

I don’t think that part was lvanka’s. I think she’s pushing to keep funding to keep funding PP period, no conditions. I think DJT is saying we’ll keep funding if you stop killing babies and it is a brilliant idea. Will get through the Senate? Don’t count on it.
If they stopped doing abortions they’d go out of business.
I am not worried that this is a compromise. President Trump always gets his opponents to take their masks off. PP says they hate abortion but it is necessary. We’ll see what they love.
