The seemingly innocuous loaf of bread you just consumed may be contributing to global warming, according to a new published Wednesday in the science journal Nature Plants.
[snip] We found in every loaf there is embodied global warming resulting from the fertilizer applied to farmers fields to increase their wheat harvest. This arises from the large amount of energy needed to make the fertilizer and from nitrous oxide gas released when it is degraded in the soil, Liam Goucher, lead author of the study, said in a statement. [snip] Although the report notes that cutting down on fertilizers may be helpful, it warns that doing so may cause less food production which can be detrimental in fighting world hunger and malnutrition.
The findings raise a very important issue whose responsibility is it to bring about the implementation of these interventions: the fertilizer manufacturer, the farmer, the retailer or the consumer? study co-author Lenny Koh...

Let's just save everyone some time and effort. We get it. Global warming is the research scam of the past decade plus. You can apparently get money to "study" quite literally anything's effect-on or contribution-to global warming.
Now, we can save ourselves a lot of time if we simply jump ahead to the conclusion of all such studies. Let's summarize: whatever was "studied" in the research, it will be found that it may contribute to global warming. Or it may not, but you won't actually find that in there. Also, there will be a recommendation for further research in this area. ie. send more money so we can continue to screw-off surfing for porn while making up numbers in a spreadsheet.
It all becomes so easy once you acknowledge that the once backwater field of climate science has become over-run with frauds of a couple of stripes: those looking for a quick and easy buck, and those looking to use "science" to push their power grabbing agenda.
By all the media hype, 2016 was the warmest year by far in the whole history of everything. I haven’t checked lately for updates, but US corn and soybean yields for 2016 were either records or #2. This was in spite of not particularly favorable moisture distribution during the growing season. Rather than regarding climate change or whatever as an unmitigated disaster, maybe one should be thankful for blessings.
A blatant lie put out to take control of food supply.
These sorts of articles are designed as clickbait for readers; as actual journalism died years ago. The MSM is now nothing more than a toxic addmix of flat out lies, propaganda, and sensationalism. If the MSM all vanished tomorrow we’d have a better world.
That is exactly it. So they can force a famine on us when the time is right, i.e. they have total control in enough other areas.
And then there’s the release of CO2 from all those yeasties.
Ban bread.
we can fix that. Just create a label “global warming free”.
Precedent:
There are food products out there labeled “gluten free” that never had gluten in the first place.
Yep, I compared the charts, there is a smoking hockey stock in the 20000 years of bread production
How much “global warming” do these yahoos “calculate” would result from the decay of billions of starvation victims resulting from banning bread.
Bread requires Wheat. Wheat is grown in the weather, and is affected by the weather.
The weather is affected by climate change.
Of course, everything is affected by climate change. That is why it is the perfect “storm” for “Progressives” they can claim the necessity of controlling everything from the excuse of “needing” to control the climate.
I can see what they are up to know !
Is this entire globull warming thing some yuge nefarious scheem to outlaw beer!??
This can NOT stand !!
My BS meter just pegged to the right.
This is going to be the counter to the anti-ethanol argument that you shouldn’t use food for fuel.
This is approaching lunacy.
It is long past time to start calling out these math challenged marshmallows.
Gluten is bad!
I hear people laughing behind the banjo music!
