This year was the Affirmative Action Oscars. Period. I read that Moonlight had very little in box office revenue. If nobody wanted to see it, how could it be best picture? Although I will acknowledge it is a twofer, Black AND gay.

The movie has earned a little over $23 MM at the box office although it might be re-released to take advantage of the Oscar. The movie was a nice money maker as it was done on the cheap.

You want to make an Oscar shoe-in? Make it Black and Gay. Throw in an abortion and evil Christian hate mongers, and it's a sure thing.
