Again, Inability? Or intellectual laziness? if it is inability, then it indicates a mentally deficient person- I think the article is referring to mentally competent people, and suggesting they ‘can’t help their actions’ because ‘they have a defective gene’

True- as people with these conditions aren’t always criminals- it would be interestingness to see what % of folks in these categories are criminals compared to general population-

You’re right, most people overlook this because they don’t know God’s word, or choose not because they don’t want to make the changes that would be required to follow Jesus.

Please don’t attribute the vast majority of criminality to genetics, or even to congenital defects.
I saw this sort of argument coming when I began reading an essay by Dawkins ( https://www.edge.org/response-detail/11416 ) and researching the incorrect attribution of certain phenomena (such as homosexuality) on the “progressive” side.
As I observed the rise of incivility and declaration of political dissent as evil, I deduced the endgame. It was the same as the one found in Soviet Russia, Red China, and every other Communist nation: genocide.
If your opponent is evil, and evil is genetic, then the only way you can eliminate evil is to kill the opponent.
Genetics removes culpability. Genetics assigns whatever action you may take to immutable traits, and therefore cannot be altered and must be met with elimination.
No, scientists are not afraid to ask. In fact they have been pushing the idea that we are helpless victims of our genes for some time.
They tried this with homos too. Learned behavior is not genetic silly billys.

The inability to stop one’s impulses in the brain can come from genetics or brain injury.
I think we are on track to learn whether our friends the bacteria within us can help with all kinds of mental disorders. I am no brain surgeon so I don’t know what is malleable and what is structurally simply not there any more. Working daily with Alzheimer’s victims, you can tell: some of the hard drive is bleeping GONE. So it is hard to say.
The next generation maybe able to cure autism and ADHD and maybe poor impulse control.
I can tell you one magic thing. STOPPING AMERICAN ARTIFICIAL COLORS gives people more time before anger and behavioral outbreaks. I am NOT KIDDING. I’ve done plenty of N=1 with normally brained kids and kids with disabilities. Night and day. And these fake colors are in a lot of places you don’t think about, sometimes condiments, drinks. And 90% of American colored candies.
One thing Europe has done right. Banned them. No one gets pleasure from fake colors so I think it’s ok to ban them here. People get pleasure from alcohol, pot, driving a bike without a helmet, etc. Artificial colors make the people around you behave slightly worse, so I’d prefer people off them. :)
Genetics doesn’t remove culpability. Not any more. Lamarck was as correct as Darwin. Epigentics, baby.
Homosexuality is a brain difference. There is a week or so in the unborn stage where these brain sexual differences probably take place. Why do they take place? We don’t know yet. Boys who grow to be gay often follow other boys in the womb, for example. Why? Is there some multiparous effect that stays in the uterus? It’s fascinating. 75% of effeminate boys who naturally choose to play with traditionally girly toys do turn out gay. But 25% don’t.
Creepy, huh? I believe we will see genetic “medicine” growing to combat these tendencies. Epigenetics is real. I have a cousin doing research on these things. One day...
I believe Gd put all kinds of cures and helps for us right here on this earth and gave us the qualities to seek them out and find them, along with a lot of chances to f it all up, too...
My point was that original sin from Adam is passed to everybody ever born (genetic).
Sure it’s demonic, but not everybody gets that part nor wants to even try to remedy it.
Christ is the cure, but almost everybody doesn’t want to hear that. Oh well!
