Pamela Anderson says she has been inspired by her friendship with Julian Assange to campaign for men who have been falsely accused of rape.
In an interview on Russia’s RT network, Anderson said that Sweden — where WikiLeaks founder Assange is accused of sex crimes — “has these very progressive laws against sexual crimes, whatever you want to call it. It’s almost too progressive, it’s almost paralyzing,” she added on its “Going Underground” show. “I’m going to actually start campaigning for men who have been victims of being accused of rape when they haven’t actually done anything.”

She was raped when she was younger. She’s talked about it many times before..

I could argue that it is just as bad, and possibly even worse. A rape leaves someone badly injured psychologically. It can make a normal life very difficult for them. They are exposed to STDs. They may have physical injuries and in rare cases die.
Now imagine you are falsely accused but completely innocent. You never had any sort of sexual relations with the accuser. I mean, innocent. What happens?
You are likely seen as a rapist by everyone you knew. Even the ones that believe you kinda have doubts. Normal life becomes impossible. If sent to prison you are exposed to rape and STDs, physical injuries, possibly die from homicide or internalized stress. If you survive a decade or two behind bars you are a sex offender for life...and the whole time you know you are innocent.
I would argue that a false accusation is worse. In most cases a true victim can hold their head high, and move forward in life. There is no shame. That is not true for a falsely accused man.
That’s my opinion. And it isn’t to minimize the trauma rape victims suffer. But its to imply that false accusers should face a decade in prison. What they do is tantamount to murder. They murder a mans life but leave him alive.
But back to Assange. Anybody notice that while Sweden makes efforts to coordinate with the UK to guard the suspected location of a rapist for several years, and they coordinate international legal proceedings, depositions, extradition, etc..... they let packs of feral “classic rapists” run wild in Sweden, and make no effort to capture them?

I have a friend that works on false rape allegation cases where men, often late teens are sent to jail for years because they had sex with a younger teen female where it was was deemed statutory rape due to their ages even though she consented. In most of these cases the female would lie and say that the male sexually assaulted them and they were sent to jail for years. In other cases the females falsely accused the men to be vindictive and they ended up in jail for several years as well. Personally I feel that this is more than providing a false report to a police officer. It's a travesty of justice where the man is both falsely accused and is punished harshly for a crime he didn't commit. If found guilty, the false accuser should do the same time plus and extended amount of time. If the accusations are really true they dont have anything to worry about but if not, it may make them think twice before pulling that trigger.
Good for her. A man’s life can be destroyed because of a vengeful woman, a lying woman, or a simple accusation because a man was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And if the woman is found out to have lied? Nothing happens. She holds a press conference and says “this fake, but accurate, story brings up very serious issues and I’m mentally ill.”

I agree with you that is is arguably worse. Both rape and the accusation of same are on a continuum. Rape continuum: There is date rape where an adult female is drunk and naked with a guy, but she said no to penetration, but he made that happen anyway, and then there is molestation of kids or an attack at knifepoint by a stranger. False accusation of rape continuum from a guy who was having sex with a willing adult stranger who claims rape after the sex, to a man who never touched the woman and is accused. They are all wrong, but some of one would be worse than some of the other one.
