Clooney, 55 - who is expecting twins with his wife Amal - referenced Trump's comments about Meryl Streep, after the actress hit out at the politician during her Golden Globes speech last month.
The actor said, when quizzed on French TV show Rencontres de Cinema: “When Meryl spoke, everyone on that one side said, ‘well that’s elitist Hollywood speaking’.
"Donald Trump has 22 acting credits in television. He collects $120,000 a year in his Screen Actors Guild pension fund. He is a Hollywood elitist."
Clooney also added of the president's assistant: “Steve Bannon is a failed film writer and director. That’s the truth."
He went on: "Thats what he’s done. He wrote a Shakespearean rap musical about the LA riots that he couldn’t get made.
"He made a lot of money off of Seinfeld. He’s elitist Hollywood, I mean, thats the reality.
"We have a demagogue in the White House. We need the fourth estate, which is journalists, to hold his feet to the fire. They didn’t do a very good job during the campaign and they haven’t done a particularly good job yet, but those things will change."

The specifics seem to be that Trump draws a $120K/yr Screenactors Guild pension. Is that correct? Do we have data on this? Romney did his stint in Massachusssets as governor and campaigned saying he would not take a salary. He also, thus, doesn’t get a Mass pension because of that choice. Is the President donating that pension to charity or something?
Did Bannon wrote a script that didn’t get produced? It doesn’t matter if this is good or bad. Just . . . is that data item correct?

Big hypocrite. According to today’s Daily Mail, Clooney has announced that now that his wife is pregnant they will be avoiding places that might be too dangerous. Of course he doesn’t mind if people from these counties invade ours just don’t let them near him.
I guess after 8 plus years of fawning over Obama they have gotten out of practice.
You give him far too much credit. I never thought he was that good of an actor- a little pretentious and over-acts, in my opinion.
Not a natural- it seems he tries too hard, if you know what I mean.
Compare him to Russell Crowe, for example...a total natural IMHO. And I don't think Crowe ever took acting lessons- he was/is a musician and plays in rock bands.
Clooney probably had had all the perks and tools and acting lessons and he still sucks.
I finally figured out why actors, college professors and the media are deranged. It is because they are fed their lines from someone else and feel that they need their own voice to come through which would not be judged. This is why they do this in front of crowds friendly to them.
It is a sickness.
