Ashley Jordan is a stay-at-home mother of five who usually hates grocery shopping: the lines always feel chaotic, especially when she brings her children, and the bill can often be more than her family can afford.
But on Saturday, reports WISTV, she was pleasantly surprised by the actions of a Walmart cashier named Sharnique Dasant.
Jordan wrote on Facebook that she normally doesn't engage with people at her local store in Columbia, South Carolina, but this time the woman behind the counter was friendly and conversational.
After all of the items had been scanned, Jordan started digging around the corners of her purse to pay for the bill. It was obvious that the mom was struggling to find the amount needed. Jordan wrote that she felt a little embarrassed:
She gave me a smile and said you guys look like you need a blessing tonight. I just smiled back.
Then Dasant walked around the register and paid for half of the grocery bill.
May the Almighty reward Sharnique a hundredfold.
This is Beauty: and Beauty will save the world.
Nice story.
That should be: "The cashier was American and the woman American..."
Paying it forward.
WHY NOT THE WHOLE GROCERY BILL ya stingy feckless stooge???

Enabler.
God will use us to do His will if we let Him into our heart.
Amen...finally
A high 5 for me too..
I wonder if I've become far too jaded in my old age.
Boy,I hope you're just having us on...as you so often do.

I saw a story recently about a cop (who was white) being filmed by a security camera in a McDonald's interacting with a little black kid (10-12 years old). There was no sound but it was clear that it was a peaceful, ordinary interaction.Turns out the cop was murdered in his patrol car about 15 minutes later.
The kid was interviewed and explained that he wanted to buy something and was short of money and the cop, seeing this, offered to pay for the kid.The kid said that the cop was being friendly and,at one point, asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up."I want to play basketball" was his reply. He said that the cop responded "well, you've gotta work hard and study hard in school too".The kid said he was moved by the cops words and his friendliness.
He did seem like a good kid...one that one would hope, and expect, would do well in his life.
Whenever I'm asked on a survey or any standard form for "race", I just put American.
Bless them both.
Large families, having more children than the parents’ capability is DEVASTATING on children with each new arrival, living outside one’s means. Parents of large families are oblivious to the painful neglect a few of their children suffer daily. The parents only feel the euphoric high of the power over many little one’s and confuse that with real intamcy of connection.
Sorry, no enabling here.
Random acts of kindness are more prevalent than most people realize. Thank God.
